Journal Sentinel Inc. Signs Five-Year Contract to Print USA TODAY

MILWAUKEE, WI – September 13, 2006 – Journal Sentinel Inc. announced today that it has signed a five-year agreement to print edition of USA TODAY for distribution in the northern and western suburbs of Chicago and the eastern half of Wisconsin. The publication will be printed at Journal Sentinel’s Burnham Street daily production facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Journal Sentinel Inc. is a Journal Communications’ (NYSE:JRN) company.

Journal Sentinel expects to print in excess of 75,000 copies of USA TODAY Monday through Friday and anticipates that printing will commence in late October.

Each four-section issue of USA TODAY has a maximum capacity of 64 pages, with up to 20 pages of full color. Four-color is available in all four sections. A fifth bonus section will be added to the production run as necessary.
