Foreword from the Vice Chancellor

It gives me immense pleasure in bringing out of Annual Report 2014-15 of DIT University, . A premier Institution in the Northern Indian state of , DIT University has contributed to the Higher Technical Education arena of the state. In the first year of its becoming a , DITU has set up a mission to be amongst the top ranking

Universities of the Nation.

The University offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate (M.Tech) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) programme in various branches of Engineering and Technology. (B.Tech) in 6 specialization viz Computer science, Civil, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering, Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) and Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). Post graduate programmes in Computer Science and Engineering, Wireless and Mobile Communication and Ph.D. in all specializations in the hall mark of the University. During 2014-15 admissions 1648 students were admitted in the University.

Our students have done us proud by winning laurels for their Alma-matter in National Level Sports Meet and extra curricula competitions.

Research is and shall remain the focus of our University. Faculty have published 46 Research papers in peer review journals and contributed to knowledge generation and dissemination for the benefit of students and the country as a whole. Several projects sponsored by DITU and Govt. of India are being undertaken.

We have a long way to go and I am confident that our management, the Board of Governors and the DITU faculty, staff and students will leave no stone unturned in making the University to achieve the Vision of settlers.

1. Central Activities

1.1 Admissions 2015-16 DIT University conducted its counseling for various courses and programs in June, 2015. The Admission Counseling process began in the month of June and was successfully completed in various stages by the end of July. The total number of applicants for B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharma, M.Pharma, B.Arch, MCA, MBA and PhD programs were about 6000. A total of 1477 students were enrolled in the undergraduate programmes, 1291 in B.Tech, 60 in B.Arch and 65 in B.Pharma. The university also enrolled 157 students in the postgraduate programmes during the counseling held on 7 June and 21 June, 2015. The Doctoral programmes have been opted by 14 students. The classes for the new session commenced from 3rd August, 2015.

1.2 External Accreditation 1.1.1 UGC Expert Committee Visit Experts of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Council visited the DIT University campus from February 21 to 22, 2015 to inspect its functioning, standards of teaching, effectiveness of curriculum, examination and research. The committee was chaired by Dr. Bibek

Bandyopadhyay. The visit was conducted as per the UGC / AICTE format. The officials interacted with the faculty members, students, and other stake holders to discuss the attributes of DITU. The program concluded successfully.

1.2.2 Council of Architecture Expert Committee Visit The Council of Architecture (COA) conducted its annual inspection at the Faculty of Architecture from June 2 to 3 June, 2015. The Committee was chaired by Prof. R.P. Deshmukh. The Committee was happy to note the academic progress and potential of the Faculty of Architecture and available infrastructure for the program.

1.2.3 Alumni Meet 2015

The DIT University Alumni Association meet was held on 10th January, 2015. The Alumni Association of DITU invited all the alumni to their Alma mater where they reminisced about their prime years spent in DIT. Dr. K.K Raina, Vice chancellor, Prof Shishir Kumar, Director Academic Administration along with other faculty members applauded the achievements of

Alumni and wished them luck for their future. The meet started with the welcoming of alumni followed by a group photograph session, lunch and cultural programmes organized by DITU students. The day ended with a grooving DJ night.

1.2.4 Educational trip

Educational trip was organized in the month of October, 2014. Nearly 1400 students of 2nd year B.Tech and MBA visited various cities across the country viz. Mysore, Bengaluru, Jaipur, Agra, Delhi, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Chandigarh and Manali. They were exposed to various industries such as IBM Bengaluru, Infosys training centre Mysore, Coca Cola factory at Bengaluru, ACC Cement Plant at Chandigarh, Special Machine Tool Industries at Delhi, DRDO Lab at Jodhpur etc. The Prime objective of the tour was to expose the students to the industrial environment and to make them responsible as budding professionals.

1.2.5 58th Council Meet of Architecture Association

DIT University had hosted the 58th Council Meet of the Association. This meet was a five day event from 23rd to 27th June’2015 and was attended by representatives of various Architecture colleges from all over India. The main focus of the meet was the deliberation on proceedings for the 58th year of Annual NASA Convention ‘2016, which is likely to be attended by more than 5000 Architecture students from India and the SAARC countries.

Vice-Chancellor, DIT University Dr. K.K Raina inaugurated the event. Its objective is to provide the students a common platform for interaction where they learn and share their skills and knowledge by hosting different events at Zonal and National level Conventions every year. The Inaugural Event was attended by faculty/ staff members and students of the host University as well as the visiting student delegates.

1.4 Corporate Social Responsibilities 1.4.1 Principals’ Meet Principals’ Meet 2014 was held at DIT University, Dehradun on 1st November, 2014. The agenda of the Meet was to create a forum to discuss the latest trends and skills demanded by companies. The Meet was an open house discussion chaired by the Vice Chancellor of DIT University, Dr. K K Raina.

1.4.2 National Pharmacy week DIT University celebrated "NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK 2014" in the month of November. The Pharmacy Team of DIT University visited “Doon Hospital” to spread the message of the importance of good health. The team also provided prescription pads and other giveaways to the hospital.

1.4.3 The Art of Holistic Living The art of Holistic Living was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor on 22 May 2015. Participants from all over India and from overseas attended it. The three day annual event was organised by Krishnamurti Education Trust. It was a wonderful experience for participants and DITU fraternity.

1.4.4 'Ek Kadam Swaktchta Ki Ore': A Clean India Initiative In line with the national movement of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan”, on 11 October, 2014, the students along with Director Academic Administration, all HODs, faculty members and administrative staff pledged to keep their campus, surroundings and environment clean and green. A walk around the entire campus was carried out with brooms and brushes and every

nook and corner of the University was cleaned.

1.4.5 Entrepreneurship Activities DIT University had funded several EDC activities in 2014-2015 academic session and also got supports from various government agencies to conduct several other EDC activities. Notably, the Department of Science of Technology, India funded Rs. 3,70,000/- for conducting "FDP & EACs" program and the NIESBUD, India funded Rs. 1,75,000/- to conduct a "ESDP" program on CAD-CAM. The EDC programs conducted or participated by DIT University in the last academic session are listed below.  Several numbers of students (90) participated in a self-funded "Prigma Vehicle Overhauling Training" program held on 29-31.08.2014.  A DIT University funded program "ESDP on Welding under CSR" was held on15- 18.09. 2014 in which 64 local youth were participated.  The number foreign delegates (47) from various countries were visited DIT University under the "NIESBUD Foreign Delegates" scheme on 19.09.2014. This program was supported by DIT University.  Several numbers of students (210) from DIT University were participated in a self-funded program "E-Learning EDP NIESBUD" held on 23.09.2015.  A DST, India funded "EAC" program was organized by DIT University on November 2014 where 104 numbers of students were participated and got benefited.  DIT University participated in "CII Exhibition" held at Haridwar on 06-09-11-2014.  A NIESBUD funded training program "ESDP on AUTOCAD" was organized DIT University during 11.12.2015 to 04.03.2015 where 30 local youth were participated and gained hands on knowledge on AUTOCAD software.  DIT University sponsored & also participated the "IAU India EXPO" program held during 12- 18.02.2015.  A "Faculty Development Program" on entrepreneurship was organized DIT University during 12-24.01.2015 where 25 faculties were participated.  DIT University was participated in "UCOST Science Exhibition" held on 26.02.2015  A DST, India funded "EAC" program was organized by DIT University during 25- 27.03.2015 where 86 numbers of DIT university student actively were actively participated.

It was a guided student's project. On completion of the project our Designing & Manufacturing group was participated in a national level competition and the group successfully acquired the 1st position in new participant’s category.

1.5 Academic Resources 1.5.1 Learning Resource Centre - 'Veda'

The Learning Resource Centre is the hub for the library and information services in the University. With the fast growing collection, both in digital and print forms using the state-of-

15 the-art facilities, the Resource Centre is contributing to the University's mission of becoming a world class University in the areas of Technology, Management and related subjects.

Besides Central Library every academic department/centre has its own departmental library which contains the core collection required by the concerned department/centre.

 Highlights

 Unparalleled subscription to over 200 national/ international print copies, electronic research journals and 22 magazines.  Forty eight networked Apple Macs in the Digital Library section.  Total Number of Books more than one lakh  Book Bank Section having approximately 70,000 books and the central library distributed to all the students approximately seven books per semester per student.  Database of over 2000 volumes accessible through Online Public Access Catalogue search facility.  CD Bank comprising over 1,000 CD-ROMS of books & learning resources.  Huge collection of electronic periodicals (e-resources) i.e. IEEE, EBSCO.ASME.ASCE, Greener etc.  Automated circulation with Web OPAC of all reading materials through Libsys software.  DIT University is a member of DELNET which offers access to about three million books and other documents through a number of union catalogues, union lists and other databases that are accessible through the INTERNET.  Reference books including encyclopedias handbooks, conference proceedings books and reference literature on a wide array of subjects including engineering, technology, leadership, research, business, current affairs and the like.

 Supplement video lectures through NPTEL.  3M Library Security System for round-the clock protection of Library reading materials.  Reprographic section provides Photostat, laser printing and scanning facilities within the library.  The Resource Centre operations and services are fully computerized using Libsys software. Opac of the holdings is available 24X7 for online access through the web.  Time to Time University Library is organizing motivational Lecture for students at Library audio visual Room  Central Library has organized two Training programme for Library Readers on E database.  Inter Library Loan services have been started with IIP Dehradun and DELNET.

 Key Statistics and Achievements

 The gate count for 2014-15 recorded 8056 visitors to the library,  Library Advisory committee meeting was held on 6th September 2014 at Chanakya Building.  Circulation stats and use of the library collections: 188316 o 93658 items were checked out at the circulation desk o 94658 items were Check –in  Over 5,021 searches were done in our databases

 Book Exhibition

Learning Resources Centre of DIT University, Veda held a Book Exhibition on October 2014 at the DIT University campus. Nearly 20 National level publishers’ i.e. Mc. Graw Hill, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Prentice Hall, Pearson Education, Cengage, Springer. Taylor & Francis etc. participated in this exhibition. Books on Engineering, Management & Pharmacy and Architecture were displayed.

 World Book day

World book day was celebrated on 23rd April 2015 at Learning Resources Centre of DIT University, Veda. The best readers were given awards.

1.5.3 Conferences/Workshops  International Pharmacy Conference- 2015

Society of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (SPER) and DIT University organized a two Day - 4th Annual International Conference of SPER on 27-28th Feb, 2015, with theme as – ‘Pharmaceutical Innovation for Global Excellence – Ignite, Invent and Implement.’The Chief Guest for the Conference was Shri Surendra Singh Negi – Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Uttarakhand. The guest speakers were Prof Paul from National University of Singapore, Prof S H Ansari- Dean and Head Faculty of Pharmacy - Jamia Hamdard

University, Prof B Mishra - Head, Department of Pharmacy-IIT BHU and Dr R K Jain – CEO East Africa India overseas. The Conference was attended by around 500 delegates from all over the country.

 National workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in Knowledge Economy-2015

National workshop on Intellectual Property Rights in Knowledge Economy was organized on 30th March, 2015 by Department of Management Studies. The workshop gave an overview on the most important IPRs. The workshop covered themes such as IPRs regime in India patents and patentability and filling of patents.

 National Conference on Advances on Engineering Materials-2015

National Conference on Advances on Engineering Materials was organized by the Dept. of Physics from 20-22 March, 2015. Professor K.K. Raina Vice Chancellor presided over the function. Dr. G.P. Kothiyal Former Head, Glass and Advanced Ceramic Division, BARC, Government of India delivered keynote address. The conference provides an opportunity for the

20 professional interactions and dissemination of information on latest and perspective developments in the emerging fields.

 National Conference on Recent Developments in Non-Conventional Energy Systems-2015

Department of Mechanical Engineering in a joint venture with Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized a National Conference on Recent Developments in Non- Conventional Energy Systems (NCRDNCES – 2014) on 22-23 December, 2014, in the campus of DIT University, Dehradun. The aim was to provide a common platform to the researchers, academicians and industrial experts to share their knowledge and expertise in the field of Non- Conventional Energy Engineering and formulate recommendations for implementation by the stake holders. The conference was sponsored by the Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST).

1.6. Events 1.6.1 Literary Events  Personality Development Club (PDC) Following activities were organized under PDC club:  Serving Week– Celebrated from 5 – 10 September’14, it comprised four workshops on Confidence Building, Professional Mannerisms, Pronunciation and Body Language.

 Career Drive – A group discussion and personal interview sessions were organized on 8 Nov’14 to review the outcome of the serving week  ChallengO’15- was organized from 10 – 18 Feb’15 to adjudge the personality equipped with physical and mental strength .It comprised of events: o BrainO’15 -An aptitude and branch related crossword o SportO’15 - Intermix basketball match and finally o HybridO’15 - which was a baton relay race along with solving of puzzles.

 Writers Ink Club Writers’ Ink, founded on 5 September,’14 is the club that provides a platform to the budding amateur writers by honing their writing skills and providing opportunities to have their works printed in anthologies published by Author’s Ink India. The Faculty Advisor of the club is Ms. Pramod Rai. The activities under this club during the last year were:  Talking with thaw. : Conversation Session was organized with Mr.Akroprava De, a published writer who talked about the experience of writing his book “Joys and Woes are woven Fine” and discussed many social issues raised by the students on 4 Feb’15 in the Vedanta auditorium.  Thematic Apperception Test (TAT): popularly known as picture interpretation technique was conducted on 4 Feb’15 in which the participants wrote stories on a series of provocative yet ambiguous pictures.  Get Going: On 10 Feb’15, a plot making event was organized in which participants interpreted and linked the pictures shown to them thematically.  Spell Bee: On 11 Feb,’15 Spell Bee was organized in which contestants were asked to spell a broad selection of words usually with a varying degree of difficulty.  Plan Making: On 12 Feb,’15 the participants were made to face the worst case scenario and were asked to develop a story to get out of the situation.  Just A Minute (JAM): The participants were given sixty seconds to talk on a given subjects without hesitation, repetition and deviation on 13 Feb’15.

 Four anthologies have been published under the aegis of the club in collaboration with different publishing houses: Strings Of Love (9 Oct,’14), Winged Heart ( 28 Feb’15 ), STRI (18 March, 2015 ), Case Files Of The Dead ( 29 Sept’15 ).

 Literary Club

Literary Club provides platform to students and allow interaction at all levels. The club efforts in the area of holistic development of the students by providing them opportunities to showcase their literary talents. Faculty Advisor of this club is Ms.Dipti Srivastav. The activities under this club since last year are-

 Rajbhasa Mhotsava held from 1 – 15 September 2014. The Editorial Board provides platform to students to explore their creative talents through Creative Writings, Sketching. The Board brings out annual magazine ‘Pratbimb’ every year and four Quartely Newsletter ‘Aarohan’ .The Editor- in -Chief of this Board is Dr.Vijay Negi and Managing Editor is Ms. Anugrah R Lall

This board has released publication of 3 issues Quarterly News Letter Aarohan till date  Sept Issue-2014  Dec. Issue 2014  March Issue 2015  Impromptu (on the spot competition) held on 26 March 2015.

1.6.2 Cultural Events  Foundation Day DIT University celebrates its 2nd Foundation Day on 12th March 2015. All students, faculty, management and alumni were a part of this prestigious occasion, as students of DIT University performed various cultural events for the same.

 'Youthopia'- 2015

Youthopia 2015 – The annual intercollegiate technical and cultural fest of DIT University took place on 2- 4 April, 2015. The three- day event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Mr. Harish Rawat. The fest was attended by students from almost all colleges of Dehradun. Events like Design Thinking, Paper Presentation, Code Hunt, Painting, Singing, Dancing, Literary and other informal events were organized. A fete was organized on day one .The day ended with performance of the Jazba Band. The second day ended with the most awaited Fashionista ’15. The ending ceremony of Youthopia was attended by Mr. Ashok Kumar,

ADG of Police. In the evening, Bollywood singers Toshi and Sharib filled the air with feet- tapping music.

 Fresher’s party-2015 DIT University welcomed the fresher’s on 29th August, 2014. The event began with the lamp lightning by the Vice Chancellor and the respected dignitaries. Exceptional Talents were showcased by the first year students and titles of ‘Mr’. and ‘Miss’Fresher were awarded.

 Farewell party-2015

Every parting face radiated a streak of happiness and a sense of poignancy during the farewell ceremony from 17th -20th April, 2015. Games were conducted for the outgoing batch and winners were awarded prizes. Cultural performances were also conducted. Mr. and Miss Farewell were chosen from each branch and titles were given to every student. The event came to an end on 20 April with a DJ night for the students.

 L’Amour- 2015

The 6th Art exhibition of DIT University was held on 12th-13th Feb, 2015. The exhibition was inaugurated on 12th Feb, 2015 by the Vice Chancellor DIT University. The students of DIT University have been organizing L’amour-art exhibition for last 5 years successfully. Its aim is to provide a platform to all the budding artists of the University to exhibit their passion for art by displaying their paintings, sketches, photographs, sculptures, etc. Manas Kumar, Gaurav Rana, Hitesh Kumar Gautam, Mayank Kumar got first prize in painting, sketching, sculpture, photography respectively.

 Children’s Day 2014 On the eve of Children’s Day 2014, students of DIT University visited an underprivileged school Rajkiye Prathmik Vidyalya situated in Jakhan, Dehradun, for spreading love and compassion. This effort of the students for the upliftment of our society was appreciated by one and all.

 National Unity Day National Unity Day in the memory of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel (The Iron Man), was celebrated in DIT University on 1 November, 2014 with great zeal and enthusiasm to pay a tribute To commemorate this day, competitions like debate, quiz and painting were organized for the students and the winners were given prizes.

 Republic Day The Republic Day was celebrated with much vigor and enthusiasm on 26 January, 2015 in the University campus. Dignitaries including Vice Chancellor, Director AA, all HODs, faculty members and all the students of DIT University witnessed this revered occasion. The singing of the National Anthem instilled within all a feeling of blissful patriotism. The grand celebration ended with the distribution of delicious sweets.

 Christmas Day Celebration’14 Christmas was celebrated at DIT University on 25th December 2014. The celebrations started with the carol singing, cutting of cake with Santa and the performance of students’ musical band ‘Albert’. On this occasion Vice Chancellor, Director Academic Administration shared the platform of celebration along with faculty members, staff and students. Chocolates were distributed by Santa Claus.

 Diwali Celebrations Diwali at DIT University was celebrated with great joy and splendour. The campus was beautifully decorated with lights and Rangoli. The day began with a customary puja (Hawan) which was attended by the entire staff and students present in the campus. The ritual was followed by distribution of sweets.

 Holi Celebration Holi at DIT University on 5th March, 15 was celebrated with great joy. Vice-Chancellor, Director Academic Administration graced the occasion. High tea was arranged for the entire staff and present in the campus.

 Independence Day Celebration DIT celebrated the 68th Independence Day on 15 August, 2014 on a high note of passion and patriotism. The program commenced with the unfurling of the Tricolor with every heart and mind tuned to the melodious notes of the National Anthem. The dignitaries as well as the students of DIT witnessed the occasion. The program came to an end with distribution of sweets to all students and faculty members.

 Teachers’ Day Celebration DIT University celebrated Teachers’ Day on 5th Sep, 2014.Vice-Chancellor, Director Academic Administration graced the occasion.The faculty members who had completed more than 10 or 15 years, Mr. R. Rajan (ME Dept), Dr Manoj Bhatnagar (HOD Physics), Dr. Naveen Singhal (HOD Chemistry) and Dr. Ruby Gupta (HOD Humanities) were felicitated by the Vice Chancellor.

 Basant Panchami Celebration Basant Panchami was celebrated on 24th Jan 2015 at 4 pm at the portico of Chankya building. The program started by garlanding of the photograph of Shri Maa Sarswati and lighting of lamp by the Vice Chancellor. All faculty and staff members were invited for the same.

 Lohri Celebration Lohri was celebrated on 13th Jan 2015 at DIT University campus with joy. The Vice Chancellor and Academic Administration graced the occasion. The ceremony was attended by all the HODs, faculty and staff members along with the students. The ceremony came to an end with the distribution of sweets.

1.7 Students achievements

The students of DIT university shine in every field, be it sports, academics or extracurricular activities. The student achievements from Dec 2014 to June 2015:-  Akansha Bisht (M.Tech DC) presented a paper in SPIE optical metrology at Munich, Germany on 22 June 2015.  Chitwan Jain (ECE -4th yr) was crowned Miss Uttarakhand ‘14 held on 26 Dec’14 and 'Miss Fashion' Icon in Miss Uttarakhand contest,the biggest beauty pageant of Uttarakhand.  Arushi Goel (CSE - 3rd yr) was crowned 1st runner up, 'Miss Talented' and 'Miss Popular' in Miss Uttarakhand contest held on 26 Dec’14.  Deepanshu Sharma ME 3rd year was declared first runner up of Mr. Uttarakhand 2014 Held on 11 dec, 2014.  DIT University, Dehradun organized National Youth Summit 2014 “VISION 2K35”. Top teams were awarded with National awards: o Best Idea Award-Team Innovators (UPES+ DIT University, Dehradun) o Best Audit Award- Team Invictus (DIT University, Dehradun)

o Best Presentation Award- Team Rejuvinators (DIT University, Dehradun)  Ayush Saraswat, IPE student is selected to do practical training in World’s top truck manufacturing brand Scania, Sweden.  Varun Dhall, (CSE, 2nd yr.) and Nitin Pathak,(CSE Cloud Computing 2nd yr.) achieved First Position in EI-Eduvate at TechKriti’14, organized by IIT Kanpur. They developed software named Hindi Sahayak (A Hindi learning software for primary students).  Kunal Choudhary (EE 2nd yr.) won first prize in a contest ‘Dismoidixmots’ organized by the French Embassy, for formation of a word in French, depicting India and its culture.  Kunika Melkani (PE 4th yr.)is selected in SPE University Challenge, in collaboration with ADIPEC (Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference).  Rahul Bhardwaj (PE 4th yr.) has been nominated as Young ADIPEC Engineer -2014.  Harsh Joshi (ECE 3rd yr.) won bronze medal in Intel real sense HOL hackathon in Bangalore. He was the only undergraduate student amongst the fifty finalists.

 DIT Motoracing The official team of DIT University was founded in 2012 by Somnath Kapoor (IPE Final Year) and Govind Tumbaria (IPE Final Year) which comprised of members from ME, IPE, EE and ECE. The team successfully designed, manufactured and fabricated the Formula Style Car DM- 15 under the guidance of Prof. A.K. Sharma and participated in JK-TYRE FORMULA DESIGN CHALLENGE-2015 organized by Delta Inc. at Kary Motor Speedway, Coimbatore from 20-25 January, 2015. The team secured 15th position in the event. The team has been given targets to achieve for the next year and has already set a benchmark by ranking 3rd in Rule Quiz Round for Formula Student India- 2016.

 Get Set Go’ – DITU Sets Off For Greater Heights A sports car fabricated by students from the departments of IP and Mechanical Engineering of DIT University was flagged off on 15 November, 2014. It will participate in the upcoming international event and is yet another feather in the cap of DITU.

 Sports activities

 “Basketball Boys and Basketball Girls” team both won 1st runners up position in the Tournament at COER, Roorkee. The Annual intercollegiate sports fest from 2nd to 5th of April, 2015. DIT University participated in Volleyball boys, Cricket, Basketball boys and girls and Badminton Team DIT University was headed by the sports officer Mr. R. S. Chauhan.

 DIT University Football Team participated in UTU Football league hosted by Selaqui Academy. in October , 2014.  DIT University Football Team participated in IIT Roorkee Sports Festheld in March 2015 and won 2nd position.

 DIT University boy’s basketball team was semifinalist in the ICBL (INDIAN COLLEGE BASKET BALL LEAGUE) tournament .Rahul Pandey was awarded ‘best defender’ in the tournament.  DIT University basketball team won championship trophy in the fest organized by IIM Kashipur from 23-25 Jan 2015

Thematic Apperception Test (TAT): popularly known as picture interpretation technique was conducted on 4 Feb’15 in which the participants wrote stories on a series of provocative yet ambiguous pictures. Get Going: On 10 Feb’15, a plot making event was organized in which participants interpreted and linked the pictures shown to them thematically. Spell Bee: On 11 Feb,’15 Spell Bee was organized in which contestants were asked to spell a broad selection of words usually with a varying degree of difficulty. Plan Making: On 12 Feb,’15 the participants were made to face the worst case scenario and were asked to develop a story to get out of the situation. Just A Minute (JAM): The participants were given sixty seconds to talk on a given subjects without hesitation, repetition and deviation on 13 Feb’15. Four anthologies have been published under the aegis of the club in collaboration with different publishing houses: Strings Of Love (9 Oct,’14), Winged Heart ( 28 Feb’15 ), STRI (18 March, 2015 ), Case Files Of The Dead ( 29 Sept’15 ).

 Industrial Tours/Visits.

 During October 2014, the MBA batch (2013-2015) underwent an industrial visit cum excursion tour to Jaipur, Jaisalmair & Jodhpur. Dr. Vikas Tyagi, Dr. Pankaj Chamola, Dr. Vijay Jain & Ms. Neha Joshi were the faculties accompanying the students. The tour was of one week duration along with one day industrial visit at Jaipur.  MBA first year students underwent an Industrial visit at Patanjali Food and Herbal Park based at haridwar on 13th March 2015 thereafter submitted a report on the same to the department.
