ALL-AMERICAN PUNTER AT IT AGAIN West Chester University Sr., P Brendan Paulison (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) leads the PSAC and ranks fi ft h in the NCAA in average yards per punt. Th e All-America punter averages 45.5 yards per boot so far this fall. Th at average puts him ahead of the mark he set last year, which was a school record. Last season, Paulison ranked third in all of Division II in punting. Th is fall, Paulison has boomed a career-long 67-yarder against Gannon and has placed four inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. He has punted 11 times through West Chester’s fi rst three games.

JAMES QUICKLY BECOMING LONG’S TOP TARGET West Chester University So., WR Rasheem James (Philadelphia, Pa./Ben Franklin) leads the PSAC in touchdown receptions with four. He has a team-best 18 catches for 281 yards and is averaging 15.6 yards per reception so far this season. James, also a kick-returner, averages 108 all-purpose yards per game through three contests. He has three kickoff returns for 43 yards and is averaging 14.3 yards per return in addition to his receiving statistics.

NEW YEAR ... NEW HELMETS West Chester University displayed new helmets at Bentley last week, marking the fi rst time since 2001 that the Golden Rams did not don the purple helmet with the gold ram horn on each side. Th e purple and gold stripe down the middle of the helmet is the fi rst time since 1965 that the Golden Rams’ helmet featured a stripe.
