IT’S IN THE VALLEYS I GROW Author unknown

Sometimes life seems so hard to bear, full of sorrow, trouble and woe, It’s then I have to remember that it’s in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top and never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God’s love and I would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn, and my growth is very slow, Sometimes I need the mountain tops, but it’s in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand why things happen as they do, But I am very sure of one thing: my Lord will see me through.

My little valleys are nothing when I picture Christ on the cross He went through the valley of death; His victory was Satan’s loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining when I’m feeling so very low. Just give me a gentle reminder that it’s in the valleys I grow.

Continue to strengthen me, Lord and use my life each day To share your love with others and help them find their way.

Thank you for the valleys, Lord for this one thing I know, The mountain tops are glorious, but it’s in the valleys I grow!

Jesus then blessed them and all mankind with words full of depth and meaning. A few years ago in our meditation on the Lord’s Prayer, we were blessed to think of it in letter form. It is one we have prayed many nights, and these words were on our lips and heart as we fell asleep.

ADDRESS: Our Father Which art in Heaven

GREETING: Hallowed by Thy Name

INTRODUCTION: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.

BODY: Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

CLOSING: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

VALEDICTION: Amen.

POEMS 27

AT THE NAME OF JESUS Caroline Maria Noel

At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, Every tongue confess Him King of glory now; ’Tis the Father’s pleasure we should call Him Lord, Who from the beginning was the mighty Word.

Mighty and mysterious in the highest height, God from everlasting, very light of light: In the Father’s bosom with the Spirit blest, Love, in love eternal, rest, in perfect rest.

At His voice creation sprang at once to sight, All the angel faces, all the hosts of light, Thrones and dominations, stars upon their way, All the heavenly orders, in their great array.

Humbled for a season, to receive a name From the lips of sinners unto whom He came, Faithfully He bore it, spotless to the last, Brought it back victorious when from death He passed.

Bore it up triumphant with its human light, Through all ranks of creatures, to the central height, To the throne of Godhead, to the Father’s breast: Filled it with the glory of that perfect rest.

Name Him, brothers, name Him, with love strong as death But with awe and wonder, and with bated breath! He is God the Savior, He is Christ the Lord, Ever to be worshipped, trusted and adored.

In your hearts enthrone Him; there let Him subdue: All that is not holy, all that is not true: Crown Him as your captain in temptation’s hour; Let His will enfold you in its light and power.

Brothers, this Lord Jesus shall return again, With His Father’s glory, with His angel train; For all wreaths of empire meet upon His brow, And our hearts confess Him King of glory now.
