From the results, it was evident that maximum biosorption of Cr (VI) was observed in Schizophyllum sp. The FTIR spectra of the fungal biomass before and after Cr (VI) biosorption confirmed the Tamil Nadu, India presence of functional groups and their involvement in the biosorption process. Hence, Schizophyllum sp. and Ganoderma lucidum can be utilized as a Mycoremediation tool in removing Cr (VI) from Krishnamoorthy AS contaminated water.
