EDO DE WAART TO REPLACE CHRISTOPH VON DOHNÁNYI IN CSO CONCERTS

June 2, 3, 4 & 7

CHICAGO—Conductor Edo de Waart has graciously agreed to lead the CSO’s concerts on June 2, 3, 4 & 7, replacing guest conductor Christoph von Dohnányi, who has had to postpone his arrival in Chicago due to his recovery from a minor eye surgery. Maestro von Dohnányi returns to lead the CSO for subscription concerts on June 9, 10 and 11, as previously announced.

The program for June 2, 3, 4 & 7 remains unchanged and includes Mozart’s Symphony No. 38 (Prague), Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2 and Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 3 featuring CSO Acting Principal Horn Daniel Gingrich, as soloist.

Dutch conductor Edo de Waart currently serves as Music Director of both the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Chief Conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic and the Conductor Laureate of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. His previous posts include those with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, , and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. Additionally, he makes regular appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles and Royal Stockholm Philharmonic orchestras.
