  • Robert Henry Wilson
    Robert Henry Wilson Robert Henry Wilson was born at Bolton, Westmorland and was the son of Robert and Ann Wilson, Holly Cottage, Bolton. Robert served as a Private (service number 42949) with the 1st Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. He died from wounds received in action in France on 4th October 1918 age 20 and is remembered with honour in the Tincourt New British Cemetery where nearly 2,000 war casualties are commemorated. 1 Other family members on the 1901 census were Annie (8) and a brother Frederick (1). By the time of the 1911 Census Ann was a widow and had another child Frances Isabel. Extract from newspaper of the time. Robet Henry Wilson enlisted at the age of 17 ½ and served in the transport section at Salonika for nearly 2 years. He was sent to France only about two months ago. Before enlistment he was in farm service with Mr Pratt, of Eden Flatt, Warcop. The 1st Battalion, The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry in 1917 were involved in the capture of Ferdie and Essex Tranches near to Barakli Jum’a, Egypt and then the capture of Barakli and Kumli. In mid-1918 a number of units returned to France including the 1st KOYLI who left the division on 20th June and moved to France via Taranto, Italy. They joined the reforming 151st Brigade in 50th (Northumbrian) Division on the 16th July. They went back into action in the Battles of the Hindenberg Line, the pursuit of the Selle and the Final Advance into Picardy.

    PROJET ÉOLIEN DE L’ENSINET Communes de Prémont et Serain (02) Zones de culture rencontrées sur site Résumé non technique Avril 2014 La société VALECO a établi les premiers contacts avec les élus des communes de Prémont et Serain en novembre 2010. Depuis les études de faisabilité ont été conduites dans le but de localiser les secteurs présentant des sensibilités d’ordre environnementale (faune et flore), paysagère, acoustiques, règles d’urbanisme, servitudes aéronautiques... Et c’est à partir de ce diagnostic qu’il a été possible de définir les futurs aménagements du projet et surtout l’emplacement des éoliennes. Tout ce cheminement, ainsi que les différentes étapes de la concertation menée sur le projet, sont retranscris dans le dossier d’étude d’impact qui servira à la demande d’autorisation administrative. Pour ce faire, la société VALECO a créé une société projet : PARC EOLIEN DE L’ENSINET qui déposera les demandes d’autorisation administratives. L’analyse de trois variantes d’implantation a permis de retenir un projet de moindre impact composé de onze éoliennes, trois sur la commune de Serain et 7 sur la commune de Prémont. Ce document synthétise les principales informations du projet avec les raisons du choix de sa définition.   • The Hindenburg Line
    CHAPTER XX THE HINDENBURG LINE HAIGhad been warned from London on September 1st that the War Cabinet, disturbed by industrial troubles,l would be rendered very anxious if he incurred heavy loss in attacking the Hindenburg Line ~eritkoid success. As in such warfare no commander could attack with certainty of success this meant that he must attack, if at all, at his own risk. He was careful not to authorise action till his army commanders were fully confident of success, but he himself felt certain that now, if ever, was the time to overcome this great obstacle. He, first of all the Allied leaders, believed that by sufficient effort now the war could be won in 1918.~Consequently, on the day following the warning he attacked the junction of the Hinden- burg and Drocourt-QuCant lines in the north. This, for the time being, was his main thrust and was pushed towards Cam- brai. Next, on September 15th, when facing or approaching the Hindenburg Line along the Scheldt and Nord Canals3 hc decided- After Rawlinson’s attack (probably on the 18th) we should know more about the nature of the Hindenburg Line Defences and how they are held. My present view is that the main attack will be made by Rawlinson against the canal tunnel with the object of reaching Busigny. Apart from Eaig’s statements the student can always tell which operations he regarded as the main ones by noting to what sector he directed the cavalry, which, as ever since the Somme offensive in 1916, he was still hoping to “put through.” Rawlinson had begun to plan provisionally the attack on the Hindenburg main line even before his army assaulted the ‘The London police strike occurred on Aug.

    Haverhill Roll Of Honour (1914-1919) RASH, Clement Philip Ernest Private, 51377 2nd Battalion, Manchester Regiment formerly 33949, East Surrey Regiment Place of Birth: Haverhill Date of Death: Tuesday, 1st October 1918 Killed in Action Memorial: Vis-en-Artois Theatre of War: France & Flanders Aged 24 Clement Philip Ernest Rash who was the fourth generation of his family line to be born in Haverhill but the first not to work in textiles. His great grandfather Charles, born almost 100 years before him in 1802, was a silk weaver who married local girl Jane Farrant in 1828. Downs Lane was home for them and their nine children until Jane died in 1847. Clement’s great grandfather Charles Rash was the person who in 1867, paid the first £5 into the funds for the new Chapel which was built on a piece of waste ground purchased in 1869. Charles' fourth son Walter, and Clements’ grandfather, was born in 1843 and trained as a tailor's assistant, later becoming a machinist, probably at Gurteens. In 1864 he married Elizabeth Ives from Castle Camps. They had ten children whilst living in Burton End with their first boy, Clements’ father, also named Walter, and born in 1865. Clements’ parents Walter and Miriam Freeman of Haverhill were married in 1883 with Walter working as a warehouseman in a clothing factory. They raised 5 children whilst living at 6 St. Botolphs Lane and 32 Burton End. Their fourth child and youngest son was Clement Philip Ernest who was born 1st October 1894. Au vu des enjeux fi nanciers, je peux comprendre ces interrogations. Je voudrais rappeler que les projections des éco-organismes sur le moyen et long terme montrent que les coûts de traitement/enfouissement des déchets (ordures ménagères et recyclables) ne feront qu’augmenter dans le futur. Ces coûts sont directement liés à la réglementation nationale sur les taxes d’enfouissement, mais aussi aux coûts des centres de tri et de transfert.
