When you're a member for this long, you can't help but learn a few things and form a few impressions. Here are the ones that come most readily to mind:

• Driving in DEs is good preparation for foreign travel, discourse and culture shock. There's plenty of latitude to “do it your way”. Though the only records I broke were my own, I've gotten lots of satisfaction from mastering my own learning curve and stretching myself beyond my own comfort zone. Correction ... from the board

Dave Speights, RMR-PCA President 2009

In the “From the Board” article last month , “Surfer Dude’s” photo was accidentally excluded. As I’m sure everyone will want to upgrade their Porsches with Brent’s ingenious “Chrono package” I’ve included the photo here that should have been included in last month’s article. Brent “Surfer Dude” Virts shared his inspired method for measuring his continuing improvement as you can see in the photo. Brent’s Cayman did not come with the factory “Chrono Package” so Brent installed his own. It is a simple design with no electronic gizmos to fail or program and can be moved from one vehicle to another with little trouble so as Brent upgrades to a GT2 or Turbo he can take the whole device with him. There is apparently only one drawback; under high “G-forces” the built-in alarm sometimes goes off which can be a bit distracting. If you happen to see Brent go off the standard “line” don’t worry, he’s proba - bly just reaching to reset the alarm!
