(040) 853 88 888 ∙ www.fkpscorpio.com PRESSEMITTEILUNG 17.06.2016 Phantogram kommen im November für exklusive Show nach Berlin Seit dem Jahr 2007 verbiegen Phantogram alle möglichen Genres, um daraus ihren eigenen elektronischen Rock-Blend zu mischen. Das überall umjubelte Duo Sarah Barthel und Josh Carter benannte sich nach einem optischen Phänomen (der im Deutschen geläufige Ausdruck stereoskopische Anamorphose klingt bei Weitem nicht so griffig), durch das man zweidimensionale Bilder dreidimensional wirken lassen kann. Genau das machen Phantogram im akustischen Bereich: Zu zweit verschmelzen sie melodischen Indie Rock, HipHop, Shoegaze, soulige Passagen und elektronische Etappen, Beats und Samples und lassen die Bestandteile ihrer Musik im Zusammenspiel größer, voller und räumlicher wirken. Ihr epochales Album „Voices“ brachte ihnen weltweiten Erfolg und beste Kritiken ein und landete sofort auf der Nummer eins der iTunes- Alternative-Charts. Seither war das Duo, das auf der Bühne zu einem Bandprojekt wird, eigentlich dauernd rund um den Erdball unterwegs, um Konzerte zu geben. Unter anderem standen Phantogram mit so unterschiedlichen Künstlern wie The Flaming Lips, Miley Cyrus oder Big Boi auf der Bühne. Mit dem Letzteren, dem einen Rapper von Outkast, haben sie auch gleich eine neue Band namens Big Grams gegründet und – zusammen mit den Features Skrillex und Run The Jewels und dem dazugehörigen sehenswerten psychedelischen Filmprojekt von Adult Swim – die gleichnamige Platte veröffentlicht. Den Festivalsommer wollen sie noch zusammen verbringen, danach gehen sie erst einmal wieder getrennte Weg: Mitte September erscheint das dritte Phantogram-Studioalbum mit dem passenden Titel „Three“, und im November kommen Barthel und Carter für eine exklusive Clubshow nach Berlin. 11.11.2016 Berlin – Lido Tickets für die Show gibt es ab Montag, den 20. The Newspaper of Five Towns College, Dix Hills, New York April 2017 BROADCASTING FIVE TOWNS by Giancarlo Estrada There are a lot of changes going on around campus. So far the college has redone the gym floors, revived the athletics program, and converted the Career Services office into a new radio station, leaving behind what Mass Communications may have considered a broom closet. This improvement has given students and faculty the ability to transmit their ideas, music, and podcasts via the use of professional equipment. Before these improvements, Mass Communication students learned the theoretical aspects of their major without the ability to practically apply what they have learned within a school environment. The new radio and televi- sion stations, partnering with the athletic program, allow students to work in an environment that replicates a profes- sional setting.
