Find Fraction Of a Fraction

For example 1/2 of 1/4

We define 1/2 of 1/4= 1/4×1/2=1/8

Division of Fractions

Multiplicative Inverse or Reciprocal of Numbers

If two numbers are such that their product is 1 , then each is called the multiplicative inverse or reciprocal of the other.

For example we have, 3/4×4/3= 3×4/4×3 = 1

Reciprocal of 3/4 is 4/3, and reciprocal of 4/3 is 3/4

How to Write the Reciprocal of a Number?

To write the multiplicative inverse or the reciprocal of a fraction, we interchange the denominator and the numerator of that fraction.

For example Find the reciprocal of 5/11

The Reciprocal of 5/11 is 11/5
