This syllabus features the following changes from the 2015–2018 syllabus: ◗ Repertoire lists refreshed at all levels, encompassing a wide range of musical styles ◗ New graded repertoire books for trumpet, cornet & flugelhorn, featuring a varied selection of accompanied and unaccompanied pieces ◗ Initial exams now available for trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, euphonium, baritone and trombone ◗ Duets introduced at Initial to Grade 3 for trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, euphonium, baritone and trombone ◗ Revised own composition requirements (see pages 17–18) ◗ A number of small changes to scales & arpeggios requirements: at lower grades scales are now played followed immediately by the arpeggio; at higher grades the number of scales has been slightly reduced; there are revised dynamics requirements ◗ An information and regulations section is no longer included in this syllabus — this information can be found at trinitycollege.com/music-regulations KEEP UP TO DATE Please check trinitycollege.com/brass to make sure you are using the latest version of the syllabus and for the latest information about our Brass exams. Rich and poor danced in the streets, rejoicing together and singing songs around makeshift fires. Their jubilation made my journey to exile all the more dismal. My father drummed fingers against his thigh and muttered curse words about our snail-like progress through London. Mother closed her eyes as if in slumber, a ploy to evade my petitions. She could not possibly be sleeping while holding her spine in such an erect formation. She didn’t even allow herself the luxury of leaning back against the squibs for fear of crumpling the feathers on her bonnet. Somehow, some way, I had to make them see reason. “This is a pointless expense. Surely you realize I have no more use for a schoolroom. Next week I turn sixteen, and since I have already been out in society--” Mother snapped to attention, suddenly wide awake. “Oh yes, Georgiana, I’m well aware of the fact that you have already been out in society. -

ERIC CLAPTON BIOGRAFIA Eric Patrick Clapton nasceu em 30/03/1945 em Ripley, Inglaterra. Ganhou a sua primeira guitarra aos 13 anos e se interessou pelo Blues americano de artistas como Robert Johnson e Muddy Waters. Apelidado de Slowhand, é considerado um dos melhores guitarristas do mundo. O reconhecimento de Clapton só começou quando entrou no “Yardbirds”, banda inglesa de grande influência que teve o mérito de reunir três dos maiores guitarristas de todos os tempos em sua formação: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck e Jimmy Page. Apesar do sucesso que o grupo fazia, Clapton não admitia abandonar o Blues e, em sua opinião, o Yardbirds estava seguindo uma direção muito pop. Sai do grupo em 1965, quando John Mayall o convida a juntar-se à sua banda, os “Blues Breakers”. Gravam o álbum “Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton”, mas o relacionamento com Mayall não era dos melhores e Clapton deixa o grupo pouco tempo depois. Em 1966, forma os “Cream” com o baixista Jack Bruce e o baterista Ginger Baker. Com a gravação de 4 álbuns (“Fresh Cream”, “Disraeli Gears”, “Wheels Of Fire” e “Goodbye”) e muitos shows em terras norte americanas, os Cream atingiram enorme sucesso e Eric Clapton já era tido como um dos melhores guitarristas da história.
