SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN BY INS VALSURA AT LAKHOTA LAKE,

A Mass Cleanliness Drive was carried out by INS Valsura in the morning hours of 28 May 17 at Lakhota Lake, Jamnagar under the aegis of Shri Ranjiit Sinh Barad IAS, Municipal Commissioner of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation with the objective of removing plastic, non-biodegradable and floating wastes on the lake sides. The cleanliness drive was aimed at inculcating healthy environmental habits and green practices amongst all citizens towards realising the national dream of Hygienic, Clean and Green . Indrajit Dasgupta, Commanding Officer INS Valsura, Capt S Kumar, Training INS Valsura, Shri KK Bishnoi, Chief Fire Officer and Shri Sanjay Pandya, Deputy Municipal Commisioner spearheaded the cleanliness drive. Around 800 personnel from INS Valsura including Officers, Sailors, families and children from all age groups participated whole heartedly in cleaning and sprucing up the area in and around the Lakhota Lake. More than 500 gash bags filled with plastic and non-biodegradable waste was collected under this cleanliness drive.
