I den kulda som så ofte møter besøkende i Bergstaden, inviterer årets Vinterfestspill til lyden av Middelhavet. For besøkende er Vinterfestspillene på Røros en reise tilbake i tid. De vakre, historiske bygningene og den unike måten rørosingene har klart å bevare og beskytte dem på gjennom århundrer, har satt trebebyggelsen og bykjernen på UNESCOs verdensarvliste. Røros og Vinterfestspillene er et godt eksempel på hvordan det særegne, gjennom å foredles riktig, blir universelt. Omgivelsene og musikken gir en felles plattform for opplevelser, uavhengig av nasjonalitet og tilhørighet. I fjor feiret festspillene elleve år med to kulturministre som gjester, fra Norge og Egypt. Det egyptiske følget var ikke bare imponert, men nærmest lamslått over den storslagne åpningskonserten i Storstuggu. Før pause var de begeistret, etter pause dypt rystet over å møte slike kunstopplevelser, så intens formidling og så smit- tende musikkglede på et så lite og bortgjemt sted langt oppe i nord. Årets program tyder på at den kunstneriske ledelsen igjen forsøker å få festspillene til å løfte seg selv etter håret. Det skal godt gjøres, mener de som var her i fjor. Og mye av repertoaret kan vi fi nne smakebiter av på youtube, ypperlig fremført av artister i verdens- klasse. Videosnuttene vil likevel aldri konkurrere med opplevelsen av å være til stede i selve konsertsalen. Når Falkbergetsalen i Storstuggu er pyntet til fest og fylles med temperamentsfulle toner fra Hot Club de Norvège, er det ikke vanskelig å fornemme at en ny årstid står på trappene. Vi gratulerer med en særdeles forventnings- skapende programsammensetting, og ønsker alle lykke til med Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden 2010! Vi ønsker lykke til og håper alle vil trives under Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden 2010! 2 VELKOMMEN Hans Vintervold, ordfører Velkommen til Bergstaden Lyden av Middelhavet – kunne vi fått noe bedre etter en vinter hvor stillongsen har vært den mest etterspurte varen i våre klesbutikker? Det er nettopp drømmen om sol, varme og en tidlig vår som gir oss den nødvendige energi til å komme igjennom dager hvor temperaturmåleren forsvinner ned i intet ... Da er det ekstra gledelig at vi allerede i begynnelsen av mars kan få føle en smak av sydligere breddegrader. Kunst- nerisk leder, Marianne Thorsen, kan nok en gang invitere til en spennende, hektisk og ikke minst inspirerende festival hvor hun synes å ha sydd sammen et program med en utrolig spennvidde. Norges eneste kam- merfestival på vinterstid vil nok en gang få publikum til å glemme både vinter og snø. Vår egen Tor Espen Aspaas vil også denne gang være med å sette farge på festivalen. For mange er det et skår i gleden at Røros kirke heller ikke i år er tilgjengelig under festspillene, samtidig som fjorårets festival viste at Storstuggu var et meget fl ott og velegnet alternativ. Jeg gleder meg allerede til årets åpnings- konsert hvor vi vil bevege oss i spennende farvann “mellom trollmenn og engler”, og jeg regner med at også du kommer ... Jeg vil få ønske utøvere, gjester, arrangører og publikum hjertelig velkommen til Berg- staden og fi re dager med uforglemmelige kunstneriske opplevelser. Lykke til med årets Vinterfestspill! Hans Vintervold Ordfører Røros kommune 3 VÅRE SPONSORER Visste du at Norsk Tipping er den norske stats instrument for å regulere spillmarkedet i Norge, samt skaffe forutsigbare inntekter til idrett, kultur og frivillige humanitære organisasjoner. Inntil 5% av brutto-omsetningen fra Norsk Tippings spill fordeles direkte til lag og foreninger gjennom «Grasrotandelen». Av selskapets samlede overskudd fra virksomheten skal inntil 0,5% avsettes til spillavhengighets-problematikk, deretter skal overskuddet fordeles med 45,5% til idrett, 36,5% til kultur og 18.0% til frivillige humanitære organisasjoner. Unntaket er spillet Extra, hvor hele overskuddet går til stiftelsen Helse- og rehabilitering, som er en stiftelse av humanitære organisasjoner. Spillemidlene som går til kultur fordeles i tre hovedposter. Den kulturelle skolesekken er den største. Vinterfestspel i Bergstaden står framfor sin tolvte sesong. Programmet i år er på ingen måte dårlegare enn dei vi har fått servert før – tvert imot vil eg påstå. Som alltid har vi eit program av svært høg kvalitet og stor variasjon. Vår kunstnarlege leiar, Marianne Thorsen, har gjort ein fl ott jobb med å komponera eit program vi no skal få nyta. Alongside their successful individual careers, Christian and Tanja Tetzlaff, Hanna Weinmeister and Elisabeth Kufferath have met since 1994 to perform several times each season in concerts that regularly receive great critical acclaim. They are frequent guests at international festivals such as the Berliner Festwochen, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and Musikfest Bremen. They perform regularly at the famous Wigmore Hall in London. Other highlights include performances at Kölner Philharmonie, the Pierre Boulez Hall in Berlin, the Cité de la Musique in Paris as well as a North America tour with concerts at Carnegie Hall, in San Francisco and Vancouver. The quartet has also performed at Brussels’ BOZAR, Wiener Musikverein, Herkulessaal München, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw and the Gewandhaus Leipzig.
