E-mail: [email protected] Abstract Compsidolon Reuter from China with eleven species is reviewed here. Three of them, C. ailaoshanensis, C. flavidum, and C. pilosum are described as new to science. C. eximium (Reuter) is recorded from China for the first time. Compsidolon punctulatum Qi and Nonnaizab, 1995 is treated as a junior synonym of Compsidolon nebulosum (Reuter, 1878). A key to Chinese species of Compsidolon Reuter is given. Photographs of dorsal habitus, scanning electron micrographs of metathoracic scent-gland, and illustrations of male genitalia are also provided. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. Key words: Heteroptera, Miridae, Compsidolon, new species, new synonymy, China Introduction Reuter (1899) erected the monotypic genus Compsidolon to accommodate the type species, C. elegantulum from Syria. It was characterized by the dorsum covered with dark spots. Wagner (1965, 1975) presented keys to subgenera and species, and illustrated the male genitalia. His works were focused on the European fauna. Linnavuori (1992, 1993, 2010) recorded species from Greece, Middle East, and Africa.

Messing for the degree of Master of Science in Entomology presented in July 1982 Title: The Biology of the Predator Complex of the Filbert Aphid, Myzocallis coryli (Goetze) in Western Oregon. Abstract approved: Redacted for Privacy M. T. AliNiiee Commercial filbert orchards throughout the Willamette Valley were surveyed for natural enemies of the filbert aphid, Myzocallis coryli (Goetze). A large number of predaceous insects were found to prey upon M. coryli, particularly members of the families Coccinellidae, Miridae, Chrysopidae, Hemerobiidae, and Syrphidae. Also, a parasitic Hymenopteran (Mesidiopsis sp.) and a fungal pathogen (Triplosporium fresenii) were found to attack this aphid species. Populations of major predators were monitored closely during 1981 to determine phenology and synchrony with aphid populations and to determine their relative importance. Adalia bipunctata, Deraeocoris brevis, Chrysopa sp. and Hemerobius sp. were found to be extremely well synchronized with aphid population development cycles. Laboratory feeding trials demonstrated that all 4 predaceous insects tested (Deraeocoris brevis, Heterotoma meriopterum, Compsidolon salicellum and Adalia bipunctata) had a severe impact upon filbert aphid population growth. A. bipunctata was more voracious than the other 3 species, but could not live as long in the absence of aphid prey. Several insecticides were tested both in the laboratory and field to determine their relative toxicity to filbert aphids and the major natural enemies. Field tests showed Metasystox-R to be the most effective against filbert aphids, while Diazinon, Systox, Zolone, and Thiodan were moderately effective. Sevin was relatively ineffective. All insecticides tested in the field severely disrupted the predator complex.

In systematic review a total of eighty four species in twenty eight genera of Phylines are recognized from the Korean Peninsula. During this study, twenty new reports including six new species were investigated; and purposed a synonym and revised recombination. Keys to genera and species, diagnosis, descriptions including male and female genitalia, illustrations and short biological notes are provided for each of the species.

Consequently, the Station regularly reports to the general public on its research. The Station also publishes easy-to-read reports designed to give the public an overall idea of the direction and breadth of agricultural research at OSU. But, obviously, our researchers do a lot more than what we report on through those channels. There is other written material available. The scientists themselves write technically worded reports about their findings called Circulars of Information, Technical Bulletins, Station Bulletins and Special Reports. Also, they keep reprints of articles they write for scientific journals and of papers they present at scientific meetings. Those are called Technical Papers. This publication lists the circulars, bulletins, reports and papers published in 1984 by Agricultural Experiment Station scientists. What strikes me most about the list is its immense scope—the breadth of which is dictated by the diversity of needs in Oregon agriculture. E-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT During the past approximate 25 years 84 Heteroptera species were published for the fi rst time for Austria. Th ese species account for 9.4 % of the 896 Heteroptera species currently known to occur in Austria and means that species were added at a rate of more than 3 per year, including previously overlooked species. Two thirds of the species (68 %) were overlooked for taxonomic reasons or because of their cryptic appearance or biol- ogy; the remaining species (32 %) are considered new arrivals. Excluding single records, 18 species (21 %) are considered established new arrivals. Th is is a rate of 0.72 species establishing per year. Most of these species are generally expanding their distribution and increasing in abundance in Austria and elsewhere in Europe and most species reached Austria probably due to current favourable climatic conditions (14 species), followed by species introduced with ornamental plants or transport (4 species). Th e dominance of arboricolous, phytophagous species with a high degree of host plant specialization cor- roborates previous fi ndings.

Illustrated key and diagnoses for all species are provided. The genus Leucophylus Duwal, Yasunaga & Lee is synonymized with Leu- codellus Reuter, 1906. L. nathaliae Josifov, 1974 is transferred to the genus Compsidolon Reuter, 1899. Key words: taxonomy, key, synonym, revised combination Introduction The genus Leucodellus was erected by Reuter (1906) to accommodate the single species, L. albidus, described from three females collected during the Potanin’s expedition to Sichuan (China) in 1893 (Obruchev 1953). Accord- ing to the diagnosis provided by Reuter, Leucodellus is close to Plagiognathus Fieber, 1858 and Icodema Reuter, 1875, differing from both genera in the shorter first labial segment, length of tibial spines and shape of head. Since then, no new data on the genus have been published until the recent paper by Li & Liu (2007) on the genus Leu- codellus from China. Li & Liu (2007) redescribed the genus and type species based on both sexes, described one new species, syn- onymized the genus Heterochlorillus Putshkov, 1970 with Leucodellus, and transferred Plagiognathus. pallescens Zheng and Li, 1991 into it.

La història de la heteropterologia catalana es pot trobar a J. Ribes et al. (2004). Amb el projecte BioCat (Banc de dades de biodiversitat de Catalunya), que vol ser una recopilació de tota la informació sobre la biodiversitat de Catalunya, es van informatitzar totes les citacions d’heteròpters de Catalunya.
