Participant Surveys

What Participant’s shared they learned through their experience with The Tech Challenge 2013:

“When we did The Tech Challenge, I learned a lot about teamwork, science and engineering skills, and the importance of planning. We learned about how to listen to the other partner and acknowledge their ideas as well as ours. Also, we learned about skills in building and engineering. In addition to implementing science in our designs, we also learned about the importance of planning. To conclude, this year’s Tech Challenge truly was a learning experience.”

“I learned to have fun with science. It’s helped me make many more friends as well. Thank you Tech Challenge. I had so much fun this year. It doesn’t matter what the topic is, the whole project was great!”

“I learned that it is hard to do some things, but when you stick to it you can get it done no matter what happens. It helps me be open to ideas of all sorts and to just have fun.”

“I really learned a lot about teamwork and how to accept other people’s ideas. I also learned a lot about angles, velocity, and force when aiming for the lava edge. Balance and weight control was a big part of the rocky slope launching.”

“The Tech Challenge opened my mind to the different opportunities and how fun science can be. This also helped me to learn how to more easily collaborate with other members.”

“We learned about teamwork and cooperation and how it’s important to encourage other people’s ideas. We learned how to record all of our data to keep all of our information remembered.”

“I learned to solve a real life problem using science. In school, we just learn about science, we don’t learn how to interpret it in real life.”

“From this year’s Tech Challenge I learned how to learn from others and take disasters as opportunities. I also learned how to take in other ideas and use them in an efficient way.”

“I learned teamwork. We all worked really well together and I learned that you can use science for everyday things and that it can be fun.”
