Los Chicos live Oct 28, 2016 10:11 BST Los Chicos Deliver The 'Rockpile' to Italy Madrid garage party rock ‘n rollers Los Chicos have been together for 15 years and show no sign of slowing down on their latest album, Rockpile of Shit, a joint release on Dirty Water RecordsandFolc Records. The band serves up a supercharged concoction of garage rock mixed with a splash of soul, rhythm & blues, and country. They’ve been described as “the Fleshtones on sangria,” but you can also hear influences like the Pogues and Chuck Berry. They’ve played with bands like the Sonics, Mudhoney, Southern Culture on the Skids, the Meanies, Roy Loney, and soon they will embark on a tour of France and Italy. Watch video on YouTube here The group is known for their high octane, beer soaked, anything could happen style of live performances, especially from frontman Rafa Suñén. In 2012 they broke the stage at Boogie Festival after inviting more than 60 members of the audience up to dance with them. Now that's a serious 'Rockpile! • Strapping Young Lad
THE DAYGLO’S AUSSIE TOUR #3 APRIL/MAY 2005 - ABSOLUTELY FREE PUNK, HARDCORE & METAL - THE SCUM ALSO RISES STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and shitloads more! ABSOLUTE EDITORIAL Absolute Editorial #3 Things are coming together nicely for us here at Absolute Underground. This is starting go be fun! We’re getting into a few free shows and people are starting to send in CD’s for us to review. We’ve got a lot of new people pitching in to make this rag better than ever. Emily Kendy joins us from Vancouver and brings with her a very impressive resume (The Nerve, Discorder, Terminal City, Exclaim...). We’ll be featuring a different Vancouver based band each issue starting with scum punks the Excessives. With the new Arena and Rod Stewart having played Victoria, you can just feel that this is going to be a great year for live music around town. I’m always impressed with the turnout and energy of the younger crowds at the all-ages shows. Even if you’re old you should go check one out sometime. You might find it invigorating to jump in a circle pit of mohawked fury. It was great hanging out with the crew at Spitfire Tattoo special thanks to Rick and Amanda. Electric Frankenstein was an amazing show and just proves that Victoria gets wicked shows all the time. A big middle finger to the asshole bouncers @ Diego’s who wouldn’t let me in even though I was on the guest list and then proceeded to tell the headlining act CHOKE to “pack their shit, they weren’t going to play.” This was after two huge idiots working the door beat up CHOKE’s drummer who weighs about a buck ten soaking wet.

Designed and built in-house by our staff of engineers, this robotic “Drum Machine,” called the Gluing Gantry, ensures that every Evans head has a true collar. A series of vacuum fixtures holds the film in place for each head while the robotic gluing arm circles above the hoop and dispenses epoxy. The result is a drumhead that tunes both easily and consistently. At Evans, we do it right the first time. And every time. And experience tells us that there are no shortcuts when it comes to making a stick. There is, however a very good short- cut when choosing one. The journey from wooden dowel to finished drumstick is a tough one. Each stick makes its way through the hands of several craftsmen before it leaves us. And at every test, there’s always the chance of getting turned into firewood. But it does get easier when our sticks reach the store. Because once you feel a pair in your hands, you’ll appreciate the time it spent in ours.
