A second Pcenny Lane is now in operation on Kansas 'Ci ty I S north side. The store, located across from the Antioch Shopping Center, at 2631 N.E. Vivion Road, was formerly Budget Tapes and Records. Mark Olson, Penny Lane North's new manager, will utilize the experience he has aquired as the manager of the for VIDEO mer Budget store for the past three years. have Musso COlllix The new store will be able to expand its selection in part because of the relationship between Penny Lane and the House Distributors, Penny Lane I s parent company. Christm.as Special The House is a distributor nationally of nearly 400 in dependent labels specializing in Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Sun Ra Interview· Country, Classical and Reggae music. The new Penny Lan~ will no doubt call upon the diverse talents of the original Penny Lane, a group which scans the spectrum from Rage n I Rick to Lonesum Chuck Haddix. Another" added advantage the new store will bring to the north of the river area will be that of a ticket outlet for Uptown Theatre and other area events--forming sort of a musical bridge over the Mighty Mo. As the longtime man- Eager of Eminem, Rosenberg has been a substantial player in the unfolding of the ‘‘ modern era and the dominance of hip-hop in the last two decades. His work in that capacity naturally positioned him to seize the reins at the major label that brought rap to the mainstream. Before he began managing the best- selling rapper of all time, Rosenberg was an attorney, hustling in Detroit and New York but always intimately connected with the Detroit rap scene. Later on, he was a boutique-label owner, film producer and, finally, major-label boss. The success he’s had thus far required savvy and finesse, no question. But it’s been Rosenberg’s fearlessness and commitment to breaking barriers that have secured him this high perch. • A-Ha to Return with New Album and Rio Spectacular for September 2015 and International Tour Dates for 2016
PRESS RELEASE A-HA TO RETURN WITH NEW ALBUM AND RIO SPECTACULAR FOR SEPTEMBER 2015 AND INTERNATIONAL TOUR DATES FOR 2016 Following on from the announcement that legendary Norwegian band a-ha are to reform to play the 30 th anniversary Rock in Rio music festival, the band are delighted to announce the release of a brand new studio album this autumn, with international tour dates to follow in 2016. The new album, Cast In Steel , will be the band’s tenth studio album, and the first new music by the group since the critical and commercial success of 2009’s Foot of the Mountain . Cast In Steel will be released on 4 th September 2015, three weeks before the band return to play the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil, and thirty years since their debut single, Take on Me , reached number one around the world. * * * The Album When a-ha played the Oslo Spektrum in December 2010 to close the ‘Ending on A High Note – Farewell Tour’, it felt a definitive full-stop on the band’s activities. As Morten Harket says, ‘it has been a genuine and real disbanding. There has been no a-ha in the sense of the word during that time.’ For Morten, Paul Waaktaar and Magne Furuholmen, the five- year break has allowed them to explore a rich seam of various creative projects, both musical and artistic. The return came about in a simple, organic way, as Paul explains: ‘it started off very easy and low-key with Morten dropping by my studio at various occasions, and I would show him songs that I was working on.

  • Saiichi Sugiyama Band Epk 2016
SAIICHI SUGIYAMA BAND EPK (July 2016) British blues-rock guitarist Saiichi Sugiyama and his band are touring the UK in September 2016 ahead of their new album release next year. Saiichi Sugiyama Band is a group of musicians hailing from Surrey/London that harks back to the halcyon days of rock and soul, 1965-1974, brought together in 2010 by the guitarist/composer Saiichi [pronounced: “sigh-eee- chee”], who has a career spanning 25 years as a solo artist in the British blues scene. The core of the group is Rietta Austin (lead vocals), Saiichi Sugiyama (guitar/vocals/composer), Ben Reed (bass guitar) and Mune Sugiyama (producer/arranger/drums). When playing live, the group are augmented by touring musicians including Stuart Dixon (rhythm guitar), Katrin Yr (lead vocals) and Wez Johnson (drums). The former members Lizzie Hibbert (lead vocals) and Dave Munch Moore (keys) also record with the group in studio. The group has been spending the past months working on their new studio album in various recording studios, a follow up to the studio live album “the Smokehouse Sessions” from 2014. The new album will include a track entitled “Melting Away”, written by Saiichi and featuring the late bass hero Andy Fraser, ex-Free and composer of the 1970 smash single, “All Right Now.” The initial inspiration for “Melting Away” came to Saiichi while on a trip to his native Japan. To Saiichi the melody was reminiscent of Free guitarist Paul Kossoff, who died in 1976. Creating a demo when he returned home to the UK, Saiichi came up with bass parts that brought Free bassman Andy Fraser to mind.

  • Colosseum – 5 X Live in Concert – Restored & Remastered in 2020
Und was vermutlich noch erheblich wichtiger ist: von keinem Geringeren remastered and restored as from our very own Joachim Heinz Ehrig alias Eroc! Colosseum – Live At The Boston Tea Party (49:27, CD, Repertoire Records 2020) It was indeed „The Summer of ’69“ (13.08.69)!
