US Ski & Snowboard Alpine Masters National Championships Mammoth Mountain CA

March 17-23, 2019

The 2019 U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Masters National Championships will be held March 17-23, 2019 at Mammoth Mountain CA in the Far West division. Mammoth Lakes is located on the spectacular eastern side of the mountains, approximately 160 miles south of Reno NV and 325 miles north of Los Angeles CA.

The 2019 National Championships includes a full week of racing, starting with the national championship downhill on Mon-Tue-Wed followed by three days of SG-GS-SL races, wrapping up with the closing banquet on Saturday evening. Race headquarters, social events, and all race venues will be based at the Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge. Slopeside event lodging packages available at the adjacent Mammoth Mountain Inn provide maximum convenience.

Transportation options include direct flights daily to Mammoth Yosemite Airport, or driving from Reno (3 hours), Los Angeles (6 hours), San Francisco (6 hours), or Las Vegas (5-6 hours). Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Mountain provide free shuttle service within town and to the Main Lodge/Inn.

Lift Tickets

Competitor lift tickets will be available at event registration: Adult $ 59 per day ($50/day seniors 65-79; 80+ free!) Senior (65- 79 years) $ 50 per day 80 years and older Free Discounted tickets will also be available for family members at event registration. Mammoth Mountain is an unlimited access resort on the Ikon Pass https://www.ikonpass.com and a participating resort on the Mountain Collective Pass.

The Mammoth Mountain Inn is located adjacent to race headquarters and all race venues at the Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge. It is by far the most convenient location for competitors! The Inn includes a full-service restaurant, bar, and coffee shop. Additional dining options at the Main Lodge base area include The Yodeler restaurant and multiple facilities within the Main Lodge. Regular shuttle service to town is available for Inn guests.

Additional Event Information

A tuning area will be available to all competitors during the event in a location at the Mammoth Mountain Inn.

Competitors who are flying may want to consider shipping their ski equipment directly to their lodging facility. The Mammoth Mountain Inn will store equipment shipments received a few days before a guest's arrival. Contact your lodging facility to discuss arrangements when you plan your reservations.

Transportation

If you are flying to the event, direct air service to the Mammoth Yosemite Airport lands you 10 minutes from the town of Mammoth Lakes and the Mammoth Mountain ski area. Mammoth is served by United Airlines, with year-round connections from Los Angeles and daily flights starting in December 2018 from Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Denver. Winter schedules and season connections will be announced fall 2018 by the airlines.

Note: Due to its small size and high altitude, be aware that flights to Mammoth Yosemite Airport flights can be subject to delay or closures during winter storm conditions.

Alternative flight arrangements would be to arrive at a nearby major city and rent a car for local transportation. Reno/Tahoe International Airport (RNO) is the closest major airport and is a relatively easy 3-hour drive down US 395, through a very scenic area of , , and the eastern Sierra Nevada. Other arrival destinations to consider include Las Vegas (5-6 hours), Los Angeles (6 hours), and San Francisco or Oakland in the Bay Area (5-6 hours).

Eastern Sierra Transit provides the only scheduled shuttle service between Reno airport and Mammoth Lakes. Service is limited (1 trip per day, 4 weekdays only; drop-off is at the edge of Mammoth Lakes and not directly at lodging facilities; baggage capacity is unknown). Additional Lodging Information

There are a wide variety of additional lodging options in the town of Mammoth Lakes, which is located on the eastern edge of Mammoth Mountain about 4 miles from the Main Lodge base area. There is frequent free shuttle service within the town of Mammoth Lakes as well as between town and all major access portals of the ski area. That said, if you are staying in town auto transportation is recommended in order to reach the race venues more easily.

Mammoth Mountain has three major base area portals to access the ski area:
