Every Girl Scout is a G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker and Leader) and there is power in every G.I.R.L.

Girl Scouts of Northern has a variety of fun and challenging activities, events, and trips that will help girls unleash their power. Check out the following pages for your Girl Scout program level and let your girls decide where their interests and talents lie.

Do the girls want to stay fit? Do they want to try some STEM activities? Those opportunities and more are available through the LINK. They might event want to work on Girl Scouting’s highest awards. From STEM to sports, arts to travel, there are many new opportunities for every girl to find her spark.

Artists, inventors and designers alike will love the chance to join the Maker Weekend at Jockey Hollow Camp. Girl Scout Brownies will get a chance to program an adorable Bee Bot Robot, in “Brownie Bots.” Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors will get hands-on experience with STEAM concepts, like engineering and design, as they participate in Girls’ Fast Track Races, Powered by Ford. Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors will experience the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia as they travel to the Birthplace of Girl Scouting.

Whatever they try, your girls will have fun, while engaging in girl-led, collaborative and hands-on experiences.

Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey offers the LINK Patch Program. Attend LINK Program Activities in the following categories and earn the LINK Lock & Chain Patch Set: Civics & History; Highest Awards; Excursions; STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math); Life Skills; Fine Arts; Healthy Living; and College & Careers. Program activities throughout the book are marked with symbols to indicate which Chain Patch you have earned. (See flyer on page 21.)

We can’t wait to see all the adventures the girls will have participating in LINK activities and events this year!

Invest in Girls, Change the World Last year, more than 28,000 girls from Bergen, Morris, Passaic, Sussex and North Warren Counties discovered their strengths, connected with others, and took action to make our world a better place. They explored interests from STEM to outdoor adventures to financial literacy and life skills, devoting nearly 50,000 hours of service to our communities and managing the business of selling a million boxes of cookies.

When you give to Girl Scouts, you are giving to more than 28,000 local girls. Here are some highlights of what your generous gift provides:

Girl Scout Troops Staff-Led Community Programs STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) Camping and outdoor adventures Scholarships & financial assistance Life skills that help girls get ahead Leader recruitment and development opportunities for more than 15,000 adult members.

Our membership fees and cookie sales help us serve thousands, but we are still left with a gap of $40 per girl each year to raise. Please show your support and generosity of the Annual Family Campaign and help us serve today’s girls while we recruit, train, background check, and retain the best volunteers. For every dollar received, we’ll invest 87 cents back into the innovative program activities, recruiting and retaining volunteers, maintaining service centers and camp properties, and implementing safety measures for more than 28,000 girls.
