Paredes and LHP Austin Warner alternated a pair of scoreless stanzas to start, before Hooks CF Ronnie Dawson (2R) and 3B Abraham Toro (solo) went back-to-back with homers in the 3rd to make it 3-0. Springfield does not have a single batter ranking in the league’s top 25 strikeout totals, with OF Dylan Carlson leading the club with a reasonable total of 55 Ks in 264 at-bats. Carlson keeps coming home… OF Dylan Carlson scored again on Wednesday and leads all of Double-A with 51 runs on the season. OK, O’Keefe… C Brian O’Keefe’s base hit and walk on Friday continued a great stretch for the backstop, who has hit safely in eight of his last 10 games and is batting .314 (11x35) with three homers, a double, five RBIs, six walks and three runs during that stretch. After hitting .222 in 17 April games, O’Keefe is batting .263 (26x99) with 16 walks in 30 games since May 1. Not Miesing around… OF Johan Mieses continued a productive Texas trip with an RBI double on Thursday and is 5x19 with a home run, a double and three RBIs through the first five games in the lonestar state. Love the glove… The Cardinals have continued to be the top fielding team in the Texas League with a .984 fielding %, only committing 41 errors in 2,572 total chances through 73 games. Springfield has only committed six miscues in 19 games in June with only three errors in their last 12 games. All-Stars announced… With All-Star rosters announced, OF Dylan Carlson and LHP Austin Warner have both been voted to the North Division squad. Carlson has been one of the most complete players in the circuit this season, ranking among league leaders in a whopping 13 categories, including runs (1st, 51), total bases (2nd, 132), extra-base hits (t-1st, 31), home runs (10th, 10), RBIs (t-7th, 41), average (.10th, .284), hits (5th, 75), triples (3rd, 6), doubles (t-7th, 15), walks (7th, 33), slugging % (6th, .500), on-base % (10th, .367) and on-base-plus-slugging % (6th, .867).
