ADVISORY TO MALAYSIANS IN NEGARA DARUSSALAM

Pursuant to the Restriction of Movement Order announced by the Honourable Prime Minister of , effective from 18 March until 31 March 2020 and the Press Release issued by the Ministry of Health Negara Brunei Darussalam on 15 March 2020, the High Commission of Malaysia in , Negara Brunei Darussalam wishes to convey the following information:

1. Malaysian citizens and permanent residents of Malaysia in Negara Brunei Darussalam are allowed to return to Malaysia and required to undergo health check and 14 days self-quarantine.

2. Nonetheless, the Ministry of Health, Negara Brunei Darussalam, has issued restrictions for all citizens and residents of Negara Brunei Darussalam (excluding social/visit pass holder) to leave the country including to Malaysia except for certain circumstances. In this regard, requests for permission to leave the country are subject to the approval of the Prime Minister's Office by an application to [email protected].

3. Foreign visitors who are currently in Malaysia are allowed to leave but, they are not allowed to re-enter the country from 18 March 2020 until 31 March 2020. However foreign tourists are allowed to transit at airports in Kuala Lumpur but limited to immediate transfer only which does not require an inspection at immigration counters and changes of the airport.

4. A complete restriction for all Malaysians going overseas for vacation.

5. All Malaysian in Peninsular Malaysia are not allowed to travel to Sabah and and vice versa with exception to those who had travelled before the restriction order took effect.

6. Restriction to enter Malaysia applies to all foreigners except for the spouse(s) and children of Malaysians/Permanent Residents of Malaysia with the Long- Term Social Visit Pass.

7. Malaysian citizens and permanent residents are allowed to transit at the Malaysia-Brunei border, subject to the approval from the authorities.

8. Malaysian and Permanent Resident of Malaysia or foreigners with heavy vehicles transporting food supplies between Malaysia and Brunei are allowed to perform their duties subject to the approval from authorities.

9. Issuance of Visa at the High Commission of Malaysia will be temporarily suspended during the restrictions period.

10. Following this restriction, Malaysian can renew their passports at the Consular Counter, No 61, Simpang 336, Jalan Duta, High Commission of Malaysia in Bandar Seri Begawan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

11. Operation hour at the following immigration posts/ICQ has been changed to 6.00 am until 10.00 pm starting from 18 March 2020:

a) ICQ , ; b) Pos Kawalan Imigresen Sungai Tujoh c) Pos Kawalan Tedungan; d) Pos Kawalan Imigresen Kuala Lurah; e) Pos Kawalan Pandaruan; f) Pos Kawalan Imigresen Ujong Jalan Temburong g) Pos Kawalan Mengkalab; and h) Pos Kawalan Imigresen Labu Temburong
