IN VIRTUE of the powers conferred on me by regulation 6A(1) of the Emergency Regulations, 1936,1, ALFRED READE GODWIN-AUSTEN, Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, and upon whom His Majesty has conferred the Military Cross, Brigadier and Military Area Commander of the Samaria District, hereby direct that the undermentioned roads in Nablus, shall be closed by being built-up at their northern ends, and shall so remain until further orders. IN VIRTUE of the powers vested in me by the Defence (Military Commanders) Regulations, 1938, and regulation 10 of the Emergency Regulations, 1936, I, JOHN FULLERTON EVETTS, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Com• mander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, on whom His Majesty has conferred the Military Cross, Brigadier and Military Commander of the areas or places known as the Galilee and Acre District (less the area known as the Jordan Valley), do hereby order that curfew shall be imposed within the town walls of — 100 — Old Acre between the hours of 3 p.m. on 16th January, 1939, to 8 a.m. on 19th January, with two hours break between noon and 2 o'clock on 17th and 18th January, and thereafter between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m. I further order that curfew shall be imposed within the municipal boundaries of Acre but excluding the Old Town between the hours of 3 p.m. on 16th January to noon on 17th and thereafter between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. The order in regard to the municipal area of Acre which was issued on 22nd December, 1938, is hereby modified. CURFEW ORDER, IN VIRTUE of the order dated the 20th of October, 1938, appointing me Military Commander of the Southern District, and in exercise of the powers vested in me by regulation 10 of the Emergency Regulations, 1936, made under the Palestine (De• fence) Order in Council, 1931, I, H. E. DE R, WETHERALL, Brigadier, Military Commander of the Southern District, hereby order that a curfew• shall be imposed upon the area stated below : The Municipal Area of Jaffa, from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. on the 17th of January, 1939, in consequence of shooting at British Police; and I hereby give notice that any per• son who remains out of doors within the said area of Jaffa during these hours with• out a permit in writing from me or from some other fully authorised person will render himself liable to prosecution for an offence under the regulations made under the above-mentioned Order in Council. IN VIRTUE of the order dated the 20th of October, 1938, appointing me Military Commander of the Southern District, and in exercise of the powers vested in me by regulation 10 of the Emergency Regulations, 1936, made under the Palestine (Defence) Order in Council, 1931, I, H. E. DE R. WETHERALL, Brigadier, Military Commander of the Southern District, hereby order that a curfew shall be imposed upon the area stated below :— — 101 — The area bounded by the Ajami and Bustros Roads on the north-west, by King George Avenue on the east, and by the Suq Salahi from King George Circus to the Ajami Road on the south-west, exclusive of the roads named, from 6 p.m. till 5 a.m. from the 19th to the 25th of January inclusive, in con• sequence of repeated shooting during the past week; and I hereby give notice that any person who remains out of doors within the said area of Jaffa during these hours without a permit in writing from me or from some other fully authorised person will render himself liable to prosecution for an offence under the regulations made under the above-mentioned Order in Council. WETHERALL, Brigadier, Military Commander of the Southern District, hereby order that a curfew shall be imposed upon the area stated below : The Municipal Area of Jaffa, from 5.30 p.m. on the 20th of January till 6 a.m. on the 21st of January, 1939, in consequence of shooting of two Arabs on the Ajami Road and I hereby give notice that any person who remains out of doors within the said area of Jaffa during these hours without a permit in writing from me or from some other fully authorised person will render himself liable to prosecution for an offence under the regulations made under the above-mentioned Order in Council. IN VIRTUE of the powers vested in me by the Defence (Military Commanders) Regulations, 1938, I, Major-General RICHARD NUGENT O'CONNOR, Military Com• mander of the Jerusalem District, do hereby order that all persons within the area of Jerusalem District described hereunder shall rernain within doors for 24 hours as from 1.30 p.m. today. — 102 — All that area lying within the following boundaries :— West: Allenby Square — St. Paul's Road to Mea-Shearim Police Station; North : Mea-Shearim Police Station via New Road past Old Museum to Nablus Road; East: From this junction along Nablus Road to Damascus Gate; South : Damascus Gate to Allenby Square. The following are excluded : The triangle formed by St. Paul's Road, Street of the Prophets and Queen Melisande's Way including Evelina de Rothschild School, St. Paul's Road north• wards from Italian Hospital to Mea-Shearim Police Station. This Order may be cited as the Exclusion of Foreign Newspapers (No. 3) Order in Council, 1939. 2.
