In his life, Brian travelled all over the world capturing raw images of native cultures and landscapes. He was not interested in the typical tourist experience, but instead sought out the obscure villages and secluded characters. I admired his bohemian lifestyle, bravery and commitment to curiosity. When Brian returned from a long excursion, he would dive into his studio to work with his new material. One time, some of his slides became damaged by a fungus. This began a new journey of experimenting and he employed ground-breaking techniques with stunning artistic results. Brian was equally passionate about his Devaki- Raw Eco Jewellery living space. He and his wife, Kathy, created the Enchanted Forest Studio in Westport, Ontario. A pioneer in sustainable living, he lived off grid in a treehouse-style round home long before it occurred to anyone else that is was a possibility.
