March 30, 2016 Central Japan Railway Company Visit the Grand “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route” from Nagoya Launching a “Tourist Pass” for Foreign Visitors to Japan The Central Japan Railway Company has made efforts in the past to attract tourists from abroad to the Shoryudo area by launching the “Takayama-Hokuriku Area Tourist Pass” and the “Ise-Kumano Area Tourist Pass” for foreign visitors to Japan. The “Alpine-Takayama-Matsumoto Area Tourist Pass” with focus on the “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route” popular overseas, will be newly launched with cooperation from the East Japan Railway Company and West Japan Railway Company. The pass starting from Nagoya allows convenient access to Takayama and Matsumoto with rich resources for tourism along the railway. This deepens efforts made with the Shoryudo area to attract foreign tourists to Japan. Instead of taking a one way trip to a single destination, make stopovers and returns as you wish and relish the allures along the railway.
