Molten Chocolate Lava Cake This gooey chocolate delight is super simple to make in a cupcake pan. For an even more satisfying treat, garnish with fresh berries, vanilla ice cream, or mint. SERVINGS: 12 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips 1/2 cup flour 1 cup butter 1/4 teaspoon salt 4 eggs 1 cup powdered sugar 4 egg yolks STEP 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F. Thoroughly grease a nonstick cupcake pan with cooking spray or butter. STEP 2: In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and butter. Microwave on high for 30-second intervals, stirring after each one, until the mixture is smooth. STEP 3: In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolks until combined. Add the flour, salt, powdered sugar, and chocolate-butter mixture. Stir until combined. STEP 4: Spoon an even amount of batter into each cup of the pan. STEP 5: Bake the cakes in the oven for 9 minutes. Don’t overbake — the chocolate inside should be a liquid. Let the cakes stand for 3 minutes. STEP 6: Put a large cutting board over the pan and quickly flip them over. Bang the cups with your fist. Slowly lift the pan, releasing the cakes onto the cutting board. Put them on plates to serve immediately. Join SAGE for a virtual baking class on Facebook Live at 7 p.m. December 30! Step 1: Check the recipe and get the ingredients and tools you’ll need.
