October 5, 2020 4 CMS R19.1.0.x Release Notes

• When changing user feature permission not as cms/cmssvc, even though the password field is not modified, users get error message about password modification. The erroneous error message is removed. • Fixed issue with report inputs when VDN range entry is greater than 11 digits. VDNs greater than 11 digits always failed tenant permission check. Correct tenant permission check for 11-digit VDNs entries now takes place. • Fixed integrated report issues: skill state column used twice in the same table and using the inputted CWC value. • Fixed issue with auto unlocking after disk added to system. After a disk is added to the system, auto unlocking now works correctly as configured (enabled or disabled) on subsequent reboots. • Fixed issue with adding disk to CMS on an AWS system. A hard disk added in the AWS console can now be correctly added to Informix dbspace with dbinit.sh add_disks. • Fixed extraneous elog entries for CMS on an AWS system. Extraneous hourly warnings to elog have been eliminated. • ECH processing no longer, occationally, leaves a defunct process running. • Updated CMS help to correctly describe password policy.

3.2 Known Issues in 19.1.0.1 Web client does not yet support the following CMS Web administration functionality: • System Setup: Load Pseudo-ACD Data • System Setup: Migrate Data • Maintenance: Back Up Data • Maintenance: Restore Data

This functionality will be added in a future release.

3.3 Linux RPM Update Procedure A new procedure is available that allows the CMS RedHat Linux RPMs to be updated. A patch- like application termed “CMS Linux RPM update” is provided that installs the updated rpms. The execution of the Linux RPM Update is much like the current execution of rpm_update executed during a base load upgrade.

Appendix B has been updated to list the rpm versions available on CMS after execution of the Linux RPM update.

Linux RPM updates also fixes the following issues introduced in 19.1.0.1 by telnet-server rpm update: • Incoming Telnet connections are limited to 64. This restricts the number of Supervisor and Web client connections to 64. • See PSN005670u on support.avaya.com for details

Linux RPM Update for 19.1.0.1 is available for download on support.avaya.com under the downloads tab for CMS release 19.1. For details on how to install the CMS Linux RPM Update see PSN005673u. 4. PC Client R19.1 NB.02 is backward compatible with all CMS R19.x and R18.x deployments. It is recommended to use the NB.02 clients for all deployments. 5. Deployment Notes This section contains information related to CMS R19.1.0.0 and R19.1.0.1 deployment in virtual environments.

5.1. OVA file(s) Beginning with 19.1.0.1, two separate OVA files are provided. One OVA file specifically for use with AWS, and the other OVA file for use with VMware deployments. R19.1.0.0 - Only one OVA file provided In CMS R19.0.0.0 and R19.1.0.0, one OVA file was provided for use in VMware deployments as well as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Avaya Solutions Platform deployments. Prior to CMS R19.0.0.0, a different OVA file was required when deploying in AWS.

The single OVA file provided for 19.1.0.0 had a bug and is not able to be installed in AWS. This problem is resolved in 19.1.0.1 with a separate OVA file for use in AWS. The 19.0.0.0 OVA file can be used for install on AWS.

R19.1.0.1 – Two OVA files are provided In CMS R19.1.0.1, two OVAs are provided. One OVA file for use in VMware deployments and Avaya Solution Platform deployments. A second OVA is provided for Amazon Web Services (AWS) deployment.

The AWS OVA has auto-unlock capability removed, therefore a passphrase is not required during boot, nor can the default passphrases be changed at any time in an AWS deployment.

October 5, 2020 9 CMS R19.1.0.x Release Notes

This is required since AWS does not provide a console accessible during boot. See the CMS Deployment document and the CMS Amazon Web Services Document for details.

5.2. VM Tools With CMS R19.1 and later, open-vm-tools version 10336 replaces VMware installed VM tools. RedHat Linux 7.x installs open-vm-tools. The open-vm-tools version may be updated in future base load upgrades. VMware supports and recommends the use of open-vm-tools. For further information, refer to VMware documentation.

5.3. Caveats when deploying CMS R19.1 on older VMware versions CMS R19.1 supports deployment in VMware ESXi 6.7. CMS R19.1 continues to support deployment in VMware ESXi 5.5, 6.0 and 6.5.

However, in supporting all these versions of ESXi, there is a caveat. A warning message will appear during a CMS R19.1 ova deployment on an ESXi 5.5 and 6.0 server.

The warning can be ignored, and deployment continued.

The following warnings appear during OVA deployment: Unable to parse ‘flags.vbxEnabled’ for attribute ‘key’ on element ‘Config’. Unable to parse ‘flags.vbxEnabled’ for attribute ‘key’ on element ‘Config’. Unable to parse ‘flags.vbxEnabled’ for attribute ‘key’ on element ‘Config’. Do you want to continue? Respond to the warning by Clicking the ‘Yes’ button.

Deployment will be successful, and CMS will function normally.

6. CMS Connectors CMS Connectors are add-on interfaces that provide extra functionality on top of the standard CMS platform. Some examples are: CMS high availability and survivability support, historical data unloads, real time and historical Workforce Management, and real-time data feeds to both Avaya provided solutions (POM, ADW) and third-party servers.

As an example, two common CMS connectors that customers purchase are HA Admin Sync and ECH Handler. For a full list of the available CMS connectors, go to https://support.avaya.com and search for “CMS Connectors Overview”.

These connectors are usually implemented and supported by Avaya Professional Services but also may be installed by business partners. The most common connectors are available directly

October 5, 2020 10 CMS R19.1.0.x Release Notes

via A1S for ordering, WebLM for licensing, and PLDS for downloading. Look under the “APS CMS Connectors” application in PLDS.

When the CMS software is upgraded, the connectors need to be upgraded as well in order to maintain compatibility. This is typically only required for upgrades/migrations to new major release numbers (i.e. CMS R18 to CMS R19) and not for service pack releases (CMS19.1.0.0 to CMS 19.1.0.1).

There is a CMS Investigation Tool available on PLDS (Download ID: ACMS0000000000) that can assist the customer with identifying which connectors are installed on the current CMS release.

7. Software Download Information For installation and upgrade implementation options, please consult your Account team or Sales team.

Please be sure to use the latest CMS documents for instructions on installing an upgrading to CMS R19.1.0.1. Always go to http://support.avaya.com, to obtain a current copy of the documents for product release: CMS R19.1

For deployments, customers should consult the “Deploying Avaya Call Management System 19.1”.

For upgrade, customers should consult the “Planning for Avaya Call Management System 19.1 Upgrades” document to determine the proper upgrade procedure to use.

Appendix A: Patch Installation Instructions

No patches are required with CMS R19.1.0.1.
