Megan Marsden Year at Utah: 9th/34th In the Rankings Utah/Career Record: 185-63-3 (9th year) Despite beating No. 2 UCLA on the road, Utah slipped one place to Co-Head Coach No. 4 in the national rankings. The oddity is because the rankings are Tom Farden currently based on season average. This week’s top four by season Year at Utah: 3rd/8th average are: Oklahoma (197.638), LSU (197.481), UCLA (197.357) Record at Utah: 53-16-1 (3rd year) and Utah (197.329). The national rankings will move to Regional Career Record: 1234-64-1 (9th year) Qualifying Score (RQS) next Monday. MyKayla Skinner is No. 2 in the all-around (39.600 average), while MaKenna Merrell-Giles Assistant Coach Volunteer Assistant Coach (39.436) and Kari Lee (39.433) are Nos. 10 and 11. The Utes are Robert Ladanyi (1st year) Carly Dockendorf (1st year) the nation’s top ranked team on fl oor, averaging a 49.464 and led by No. 4 Merrell-Giles (9.936) and 2017 NCAA champion Skinner at Utah Athle c Communcia ons No. 8 (9.918).     ANNUAL REPORT – INTRODUCTION Dear Bruins, Our department enjoyed an exciting and memorable year both on and off the field of competition in 2016- 17. Ten of our athletic teams finished among the Top 10, nationally. Of even greater significance, 126 of our student-athletes earned their degrees from this university in June and officially embarked upon the next chapter of their lives. Throughout the 2016-17 academic year, student- athletes earned Director’s Honor Roll accolades (3.0 GPA or higher) more than 980 times. In addition, our Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and Academic Progress Report (APR) numbers remained high across the board and among the best in the nation. UCLA’s overall GSR of 86% stands two percentage points higher than the national average of 84%. Our football team compiled the second-highest GSR among Pac-12 schools with 88% (the national average for FBS schools is 74%). In addition, six of our teams – men’s water polo, women’s basketball, women’s golf, softball, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball – had a GSR of 100 percent. Sixteen of our 20 sports programs had a GSR of 80 percent or higher. I’ve said it before and I’ll say As a department, we always pride ourselves on team practice facilities for our football, men’s basketball it again – our student-athletes not only meet these accomplishments, but it’s absolutely worth noting and women’s basketball teams, and I know that the expectations, but they almost always exceed them. It’s several outstanding individual efforts by our hard- coaches and student-athletes of these teams are a testament to their work ethic and to the support they working student-athletes.

The championships, hosted by Texas Woman's University and Knight Eady, will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, April 16-17. The women’s gymnastics championships consists of eight teams and four all-around competitors (who are not on a qualifying team). The top two teams and the top all-around competitor from each of the four regionals have advanced to the national championships. In addition, the top event specialist at each regional also advanced to the national championships (in her specific event) who were not part of a qualifying team or the all-around qualifiers. The top two teams from the Athens and Morgantown regionals will compete in the first semifinal and the top two teams from the Salt Lake City and Tuscaloosa regionals will compete in the second semifinal.
