It’s where you come to start something BIG. MADISON KOCIAN Olympic Gold Medalist WOMEN’S GYMNASTICS The women’s program welcomes recreational and competitive gymnasts of all ability levels. All Olympic events plus trampoline are taught during instruction periods with an emphasis on fundamentals and learning new skills. Instructors teach skills progressing in difficulty on each event to ensure that campers are learning proper technique. Open gym times allow for gymnasts to work on individual goals with our professional coaching staff. MEN’S GYMNASTICS The men’s program focuses on optional and compulsory skill progression during the required morning classes. Strength, flexibility, and drills are taught in the afternoon, including a trampoline rotation every day. Evening training is an open JONATHAN HORTON TREVOROlympic HOWARD Silver Medalist workout designed for individual National Team Member skill development. POWER TUMBLING (Available at Woodward PA weeks 5-12) The power tumbling program teaches compulsory and elite-level routines by providing tumbling coaching on the rod floor, double-mini, and trampoline. Each day, participants will enjoy up to 7 hours of gym time with 2½ hours of mandatory instruction and 4½ hours of ANGEL RICE open workout time. This does not include U.S. National Power Tumbler competitive trampoline. Our dance program is focused on hip hop, jazz, and contemporary DANCE styles of dance. Campers learn from the best dance choreographers and professional gymnastics instructors, fully immersed in a dynamic learning environment full of skill-building and creativity. Dancers have daily instruction in the dance studio as well as in Woodward’s expansive gymnastics facilities with springs floors, trampolines, and foam pits. WOODWARD WEST Woodward West is based in sunny California, conveniently located 2 hours outside of Los Angeles in Tehachapi, Calif. Our gigantic 24,400-square-foot gym is full of state- of-the-art training equipment that gives athletes the ability to develop new skills and pursue their passion for gymnastics. Woodward West’s world-class gym facility includes two full spring floors, a 124-foot long-rod floor, beams, high bars, rings, uneven bars, pommel horses, parallel bars, and vaults, all of which have the ability to dismount into foam pits, Resi-Pits, and competitive landing surfaces. Each camp has cafeteria-style dining facilities and outdoor grills with all-you-can-eat meals. Woodward is committed to offering dietary options for campers with food allergies such as tree nuts and peanuts. Please provide information about special dietary needs on your camper’s health forms and notify the camp directly to discuss any dietary requirements prior to arrival.
