This study analyzed the industrialization development of Shandong peninsula city group and every city with the method of AHP. The conclusion indicted that the industrialization stage of Shandong peninsula city group is the advanced stage of industrial implementation phase, while the industrialization stage of Shandong province is the primary stage of industrial implementation phase. Jinan and Qingdao have been after industrialization stage, while Zibo, Dongying, Yantai and Weihai have been the advanced stage of industrial implementation phase, and Weifang and Rizhao have been the primary stage of industrial implementation phase. 1 INTRODUCTION Industrialization is defined to be a process that with the continuous development of modern industry, especially the development of manufacturing, the proportion of industrial value accounted for gross domestic product (GDP) keep increasing, and the industry have developed to be the pillar of the economy. World industrialization originated British industrial revolution in the 18th century. Industrialization process with characteristics of mechanized production changed mode of production and way of life, transferring labor, capital and other factors of production from countryside to city, driving the progress of the society. Shandong peninsula is one of earliest developed regions at modern times in China, establishing a relatively complete industrial system after 1949. It is very meaningful to evaluate the degree of industrialization in Shandong Peninsula City Group for internal development of the cities group and the construction of new urbanization in China. 1Liu Ning: [email protected] 376 2 THEORETICAL BASIS According to the Petty-Clark's law, the law of industrial development is that with the development of industrialization, the regional industrial structure is transforming along the direction of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry. Thus the pillar industries and employment structure should transform along the direction of primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry. In order to assess the degree of industrialization, the main factors including economy gross, industrial structure and employment structure should be taken into account. 2.1 Multi-Country Model The multinational model was put forward by American economist H. Chenery in 1986, analyzing the industrialization progress in 101 country from 1950 to 1970, especially the economy development and industrialization process. H. Chenery divided industrialization level into six stages from low to high in turn. The six stages include three major stages and six small stages. The major stages are pre-industrial stage, the implementation stage and the stage after industrialization. The implementation phase includes the primary stage, intermediate stage and advanced stage of industrialization. The stage after industrialization includes the junior stage and the senior stage of developed economy. 2.2 Industrialization level evaluation system of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Industrialization level evaluation system of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences analyzed the industrialization level and process. The evaluation index system selected by Chinese Academy of Social Sciences are: (1) per capita GDP; (2) industrial structure; (3) the proportion of manufacturing output accounts for the total added value of commodity production department; (4) urbanization rate; (5) employment structure. The division of development stage of industrialization reference in Multi-Country model. 377 Table 1. Standard value of different degree of industrialization. Ps: A represents the proportion of the added value of the first industry in GDP. I represents the proportion of the added value of the secondary industry in GDP. S represents the proportion of the added value of the tertiary industry in GDP 3 COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION 3.1 Index selected Refer to previous research, industrialization level of development of one area usually evaluated by per capita GDP, industrial structure, urbanization rate and employment structure. 3.2 Data treatment The data of Per Capita GDP is in dollar terms in order to compare with benchmark. The exchange rate between RMB and USD adopts the average price from January to December in 2013. Proportion of three industry output value, urbanization rate and primary industry employment proportion are from Shandong statistical yearbook (2001-2014). Proportion of manufacturing output accounts for the total added value of GDP has different statistical caliber between different cities in Shandong peninsula city group. The data of Qingdao, Weihai and Rizhao adopt the industrial production to replace manufacturing output because of the lack of statistical data, and the other cities adopt the data from Shandong statistical yearbook (2001-2014). 378 This research standardizes the data with the method of periodic threshold value method2. The formula is as follows. ik (jik 1)*33 (X ik minkj ) /(max kj minkj ),(j ik 2、、) 3 4 ik 0,(jik 1) (1) ik 100,(jik 5) where jik represents development stage of index “k” in region “i”, ik ∈[0,100]. (1) jik =1, ik =0, represents development stage of index “k” in region “i” is after industrialization, (2) jik =5, ik =100, represents development stage of index “k” in region “i” is Pre-industrial stage, (3) if jik equal to 2 ,3, 4, the value of ik = Base Values(0,33,66 separately) + (the actual value - the minimum reference value )/( the maximum reference value - the minimum 3 reference value) . (4) X ik represent the actual value of index “k” in region “i”. Table 2. Judgment matrix of industrialization4. Tell us once, where you will begin. In a place where there are already Christians? or where there are none? Where there are Christians you come too late. The English, Dutch, Portuguese, and Spanish control a good part of the farthest seacoast. Where then? . In China only recently the Tartars mercilessly murdered the Christians and their preachers. Will you go there? Where then, you honest Germans? . Dear Justinian, stop dreaming, lest Satan deceive you in a dream! Admonition to Justinian von Weltz, Protestant missionary in Latin America, from Johann H. Ursinius, Lutheran Superintendent at Regensburg (1664)1 When China was ruled by the Han and Jin dynasties, the Germans were still living as savages in the jungles. In the Chinese Six Dynasties period they only managed to create barbarian tribal states. During the medieval Dark Ages, as war raged for a thousand years, the [German] people could not even read and write. Our China, however, that can look back on a unique five-thousand-year-old culture, is now supposed to take advice [from Germany], contrite and with its head bowed. What a shame! 2 KANG YOUWEI, “Research on Germany’s Political Development” (1906) Germans in Colonial Kiaochow,3 1897–1904 During the 1860s the Germans began discussing the possibility of obtaining a coastal entry point from which they could expand inland into China.

It is also the only channel for the transportation of materials from the Yellow River to the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea. The supply of suspended sediment from the Bohai Sea plays a decisive role in the evolution of the mud area in the northern Yellow Sea and even the muddy area in the southern Yellow Sea. Previous studies have demonstrated that sediment exchange through the Bohai Strait occurs mainly in winter, but due to the lack of long-term observational data, changes in the sediment flux over multiple years have not been studied. In this paper, based on L1B data from the MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) -Aqua satellite, an interannual time series of the suspended sediment concentration (SSC) at each depth layers in the Bohai Strait in winter was established through 16 cruises that benefited from the complete vertical mixing water in the strait in winter.

  • Innovation Efficiency Research of Shandong Province Under Innovation-Driven Strategy
Advances in Engineering Research, volume 173 4th Workshop on Advanced Research and Technology in Industry Applications (WARTIA 2018) Innovation Efficiency Research of Shandong Province under Innovation-driven Strategy Lei Wang Shandong Transport Vocational College, Weifang, Shandong, 261000, China Email:[email protected] Keywords: Innovation-driven Strategy, Innovation Efficiency Abstract: Innovation is the source of a nation’s power, and the proposition of innovation strategy has guided the direction for national economic development. As to Shandong Province, how to enhance the provincial comprehensive strength and improve innovation efficiency is a problem worth discussion. Analyzing innovation input and output of Shandong Province during last five years, there is still redundancy and relaxation existed. This analysis fully reflects the execution and popularity of innovation strategy in Shandong, but there are still spaces for improvement of innovation efficiency. There has been a long-standing phenomenon of unbalance of economic developments in various regions within Shandong Province, but the fundamental cause is that the innovation ability and efficiency varies from one region to another. Therefore, innovation ability is the most competitive inner power of a city or a region. It is clearly proposed at the 18th Party Congress that “to implement an innovation-driven development strategy and to place innovation at the core of the country's overall development”. Since the year 2013, Shandong Province has been initiatively transforming economic development mode, which has achieved certain accomplishments, and the comprehensive innovation ability has been ranked to top six in China, at the same time there have been gradual improvements at various aspects with the innovation-driven strategy of transformation reform.

sustainability Article Land-Use Efficiency in Shandong (China): Empirical Analysis Based on a Super-SBM Model Yayuan Pang and Xinjun Wang * Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China; [email protected] * Correspondence: [email protected] Received: 20 November 2020; Accepted: 14 December 2020; Published: 18 December 2020 Abstract: A reasonable evaluation of land-use efficiency is an important issue in land use and development. By using a super-SBM model, the construction and cultivated land-use efficiency of 17 cities in Shandong from 2006 to 2018 were estimated and the spatial-temporal variation was analyzed. The results showed that: (1) The land use efficiency levels were quite different, and low-efficiency cities impacted the overall development process. (2) The efficiency values of construction land generally fluctuated and rose, meaning that room remains for future efficiency improvements. Cultivated land generally showed a high utilization efficiency, but it fluctuated and decreased. (3) The construction land-use efficiency was highest in the midland region, especially in Laiwu city, followed by the eastern region and Qingdao city, and the western region. The spatial variation in cultivated land presented a trend of “high in the middle, low in the periphery,” centered on Jinan and Yantai city. (4) Pure technical efficiency was the main restriction driving inefficient utilization in the western region, while scale efficiency played that role in the east. Based on the findings, policy suggestions were proposed to improve the land-use efficiency in Shandong and promote urban sustainable development. On the Periphery of a Great “Empire”: Secondary Formation of States and Their Material Basis in the Shandong Peninsula during the Late Bronze Age, ca. 1000-500 B.C.E Minna Wu Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMIBIA UNIVERSITY 2013 @2013 Minna Wu All rights reserved ABSTRACT On the Periphery of a Great “Empire”: Secondary Formation of States and Their Material Basis in the Shandong Peninsula during the Late Bronze-Age, ca. 1000-500 B.C.E. Minna Wu The Shandong region has been of considerable interest to the study of ancient China due to its location in the eastern periphery of the central culture. For the Western Zhou state, Shandong was the “Far East” and it was a vast region of diverse landscape and complex cultural traditions during the Late Bronze-Age (1000-500 BCE). In this research, the developmental trajectories of three different types of secondary states are examined. The first type is the regional states established by the Zhou court; the second type is the indigenous Non-Zhou states with Dong Yi origins; the third type is the states that may have been formerly Shang polities and accepted Zhou rule after the Zhou conquest of Shang. On the one hand, this dissertation examines the dynamic social and cultural process in the eastern periphery in relation to the expansion and colonization of the Western Zhou state; on the other hand, it emphasizes the agency of the periphery during the formation of secondary states by examining how the polities in the periphery responded to the advances of the Western Zhou state and how local traditions impacted the composition of the local material assemblage which lay the foundation for the future prosperity of the regional culture.
