Information on office administration can be found in a variety of resources. This guide is designed to help point you in the right direction by providing a starting point for your research. Remember to always ask a librarian when you need assistance.

Databases

You can always access one of the available to you via the library’s homepage while on-campus at http://neptune/library or by clicking on the library icon on any desktop. To access the databases from off-campus simply go to http://library.cw.edu and enter the same username and password you would as if on-campus.

Try the following databases to find articles relating to office :

EBSCO Academic Search Elite This offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies and more

EBSCO Source Elite A collection of full-text articles from popular business magazines, scholarly journals and publications. Topics include: , banking, , , management, marketing, real estate, regional studies, sales, trade and technology. This database also provides abstracts and indexing for nearly 1,570 business journals, including coverage of The Wall Street Journal.

ProQuest (Research Library) Research Library provides access to full-text journals across a wide range of subject areas, including business, education, literature, political science, and psychology.

There are numerous office administration websites on the Internet. You should always check the source that is providing the information to ensure that it is valid and reliable. Here is a section of reputable sources that can start you on your way.

American Management Association (AMA) http://www.amanet.org/index.htm Non-profit that provides its members with resources that includes articles on management, careers, small business and more.

International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) http://www.iaap-hq.org/ IAAP provides its members with research on office trends, cutting-edge publications, seminars and conferences, and other resources to help administrative professionals enhance their skills and become more effective contributors to their employers.
