BANCROFT SCHOOL SNOW PROCEDURES The School’s answering machine will have a message by 6:00 a.m. announcing any cancellation or delay. Please call 508-853-2640. School delays and cancellations are also announced on the following radio and television stations. Radio, WORC (98.9 FM), WXLO (104.5 FM), WTAG (580AM), WSRS (96.1 FM), WBZ (1030AM), WRKO (680 AM), and TV Channels, WBZ 4, WCVB 5, WFTX 25, WHDH 7. We will also make every effort to post the school delay or closing on the home page of the website, www.bancroftschool.org. Bancroft School serves a wide geographic area, and weather conditions may vary from place to place. Parents are urged to use their own discretion in deciding whether or not to keep students home due to inclement weather. While it is a great inconvenience for many to have school cancelled or delayed, it is a family’s responsibility to have an emergency plan in place for these days. Students should not arrive to campus any earlier than one-half hour before the announced start time of school on days when school is delayed. When Worcester public schools are closed, but Bancroft is open, there will be no bus service, since the Bancroft School bus operates according to the public school schedule. Knowing that some of our families travel some distance and/or have carefully planned carpool schedules, the School, once in session, will remain open until the end of the regular school day. If a weather emergency prevails, a child may be excused early but parents must make the following special arrangements: *Students who drive themselves may be excused by a phone call from a parent. *Parents picking up their own children must come to the front desk and sign an early release form. *A parent driving in a carpool must come to the front desk to sign an early release form. We must, however, have verbal permission from the parents of each student unrelated to the driver of the car pool. Students will not be called from class until the release form has been signed. This will help minimize missed class time. .
