This programme focuses on the development of knowledge and understanding of strategic management issues in order to reflect on and improve business and management practice in the field of Islamic finance. The programme is designed to dovetail with the demands of a full-time job aligning theory and practice. Regardless of the industry or the commercial role you hold, the MBA in Islamic Finance course will assist you in gaining a critical understanding of an industry which is now estimated to be approx $1.5 trillion. You will study the opportunities and challenges facing Islamic finance enterprises and organisations and will be equipped with the appropriate analytical and critical tools, techniques and theories to provide in-depth knowledge related to various Islamic business transactions. Entry Requirements Applicants should normally have the following: 2 years work experience in a business or management capacity; and a UK honours degree/postgraduate degree (or equivalent). The methodologies and concepts of Islamic law will be investigated to provide in- depth knowledge related to various Islamic business transactions. ISLAMIC FINANCE AND INVESTMENT - This module will help you to develop a critical understanding of the concepts and practical operations of the Islamic financial sector. In addition, you will be able to identify the risk elements related to Islamic financial products and mitigation techniques relating to Islamic banking and the key functional areas of management. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT - This module aims to provide a general introduction to HRM in organisations. It will show an awareness of the merits and difficulties associated with new and different forms of work patterns and job designs aimed at enhancing performance, motivation and commitment. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING - This module is designed to introduce managers to the concepts of financial management, and to explore the corporate aspects, and the differing organisational contexts, that determine sources of corporate funding.
