LEAGUE COMMUNICATIONS All relevant league information is communicated centrally through to your nominated Association delegate. This information is circulated via email to all nominated Association delegates at regular points through the season. It is very important that as delegate this league information is read in detail and communicated and forwarded onto relevant persons at all times within your Association such as coaches, players and administrators. If at any time during the season you have a question on the information, rules or any other matters please do not hesitate to contact the office via email or phone. We are here to help and assist you. In the event your Association coaches, captains etc have complaints they wish to raise to the league on any matter, please ensure these are channelled through to your delegate and in which the delegate as the central contact person for your Association can then raise and discuss with the league. With the league having over 3000 various player/coach stakeholders, it is important for our efficiencies that all such matters come directly to the league via delegates only. The league if required and at our determination will then contact the relevant coaches/players to discuss further. Please ensure you are open and transparent with your coaches/players etc on the need for them to communicate things to you directly. In the event your phone call is not answered immediately during business hours this will be because staff are in meetings etc. To assist us in servicing your queries efficiently please send the query in an email and we will get back to you as soon as practical. All Association contacts as per our current league records are found on the Big V website. Please ensure you contact the league immediately if there are any changes that have occurred and/or any errors. To contact other Associations for the purposes of Welcome Notes etc please refer to this Association contacts page for relevant contacts. 2020 Association Information Guide | 4 3. BIG V EMERGENCY WEEKEND CONTACT NUMBER For all queries on weekend match day please contact the Big V Weekend Emergency Contact Number only 0477 028 144. All other league office staff contact numbers will most likely be unattended (including emails). In the event the Weekend Emergency Contact Number is not answered immediately, please ensure you leave a voice mail and/or text your query to the weekend mobile number and you will be responded to as soon as possible. Due to a high volume of calls on weekends we do our best to respond as soon as possible. 4. 2020 RULES OF OPERATION It is the responsibility of all Associations to fully be aware of all the 2020 Rules of Operation of the league. The rules can be found on Google Drive. It is important that a hard printed out copy is also on hand and available on Match Day if required to be referenced to by either team. The league can be contacted on the Weekend Emergency Contact Number if either team requires further clarification on any rule. The league will be aligned to these rules for all decision making throughout the season. The Association Information Guide is simply a summary of key information elements of the 2020 season, and Associations are responsible for referring to the Rules of Operation at all times. 5. BIG V 2020 SEASON INFORMATION GOOGLE DRIVE All 2020 league documents and information can be found on the Google Drive (direct link below) This is your Association’s one stop shop for any important 2020 season information and documents. WEEKLY ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS Welcome Note Monday 5pm - Home Associations complete and send to Visiting Association delegate. Wednesday 5pm - Visiting Association returns via email to the Home Association the completed form with team lists etc. Game Day Form Tuesday 5pm must be submitted by Home Association. Uploading Match footage videos Tuesday 12pm must be submitted by Home Association. Online Coaches Votes Tuesday 5pm both teams. Game Day Program (Printed or Electronic) Ongoing through the season by Home Association. Registration of all players/coaches Ongoing prior and throughout season if required. Submission of Clearances for new players (if required) Ongoing prior and throughout season if required. Approval of Clearances of previous players to other Associations Ongoing prior and throughout the season. 16/u Big V Indemnification Form Prior to season and ongoing throughout the season if required. Ensuring any Foreign Born players (not currently Australian citizens) have necessary Basketball Australia approval for eligibility Prior to the season and ongoing through the season if required for any additional new players prior to them playing. Submitting the League Foreign Born Player (not currently Australian citizens) Prior to the season and ongoing through the season if required for any additional new players prior to them playing. Promotion of your teams and games through your local community media outlets Ongoing prior and throughout the season. Media Submission to league of team news stories etc - Ongoing prior and throughout the season. 2020 Association Information Guide | 6 Game Day requirements Game Commissioner (Rule 7.5.1), Court Announcer (Rule 7.5.11 & 7.3.2), Scoretable and Stats (Rule 7.5.12), Floor Wipers (Rule 7.5.10), Game Day Video (Rule 7.5.14), Venue Requirements (Rule 3.3.1), Venue Signage and national flag (Rule 3.3.2). Ongoing through the season by Home Association. Payment of league invoices by stated date terms to ensure financial for league fees and fines (if any) Ongoing through the season Other important items during season • Ensuring team entries are submitted (August/September) • ACM paperwork (motions, notice of attendance) are submitted on time (August/September) • Attend the ACM (October)- we ask that this be the delegate but it can be anyone from an association. Attendance is compulsory for all Associations, else fines are issued for non- representation • Venue availability and Home Game Fixture request (October) • Association Contact Form- you are also required to advise the office if anything changes during the season (December) • First Fixture Draft- game change requests submitted by prescribed date (December/January) • Second Fixture Draft- submit any game time change requests (no game change requests can be received) (January/February) • Final Fixture released (February/March) • Coach passes (February/March) • End of season voting (July/August) • Awards Night (September) • Applications for finals qualification for injured players (June/July) 2020 Association Information Guide | 7 7. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY ADMINISTRATION REQUIREMENTS Registration (Refer to Rule 5.2) It is the Association’s responsibility that all players are registered online prior to them playing. • Playing of an unregistered player is an automatic forfeit of that match and fine • Registration of a player does not mean the player is automatically eligible, and the player and Association are responsible for ensuring the player has received approval if required for clearances and/or Basketball Australia approval before being considered eligible (Refer to Rule 5.1.3 and 5.4) Case Example: A player registers to play Big V for Wallan in January 2020 for the upcoming season. They last played Big V in 2015 for Eltham. This player fails to submit a clearance online for approval from Eltham to Wallan. Despite this player being registered they are still ineligible as they were required to have a clearance approval from Eltham to Wallan to be considered eligible. This match would be forfeited and the Association fined. Case Example: A player registers to play Big V for Nunawading and is born in NZ and is not a current Australian Citizen and plays Round 1.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION – GENERAL MANAGER SOUTH Position Reports To: BTAS Education and Operations Manager Location: Hobart, Tasmania Position Summary: The General Manager South will promote, develop and coordinate basketball initiatives and activities in Southern Tasmania. Reporting to the Education and Operations Manager, the key objectives of this position will be to ensure current stakeholders and competitions receive the necessary support to continue their effective operation as well as implementing strategies to grow the sport and increase participation rates in Southern Tasmania. Position • Work closely with the Constituent Association Members (CAMs) and Affiliates in Southern Responsibilities: Tasmania. • Develop and coordinate the Regional Commission along with a number of committees to continue to progress basketball in Southern Tasmania. • Conduct the Senior Representative competition in Hobart. • Conduct the Junior Representative and Domestic competition in Hobart. • Conduct the Under 22 Representative competition in Hobart. • Conducting domestic competitions in geographic areas that are currently underserviced or in areas where opportunities arise in partnership with the associations. • Link the Hobart Chargers in the NBL1 competition with all activities conducted for strong promotion of the sport. • Link with the Tasmania Jack Jumpers in the NBL competition with all activities conducted for strong promotion of the sport. • Manage all Information Technology for the association – including social media management, online registration system management, website, etc. • Work closely with all areas of the Basketball Tasmania team to advance participation, development and pathways. • Promote and coordinate Aussie Hoops in conjunction with the associations. • Manage and liaise with the school based programs to increase participation – Aussie Hoops, Sport Australia’s Sporting Schools Initiative.

    Ringwood Basketball Association 2020 Season Handbook Welcome Welcome to the Ringwood Hawks Representative Program, a program operated by the Ringwood Basketball Association (RBA). The RBA is a voluntary organisation that currently provides competitions for approximately 2,300 male and female basketballers of all ages in and around the City of Maroondah and is a member of Basketball Victoria (BV), the governing body for organizing basketball in the state. Home games are played at The Rings located on Canterbury Road in Ringwood opposite Cadbury (close to the Canterbury Road exit off Eastlink). The Stadium has four air conditioned courts, a function / meeting room and a canteen. Over its 55 plus year history the Association has grown to become one of the largest associations in Queensland now boasting over 3,500 registered participants. Gold Coast Basketball is represented in the National Basketball League 1 North (NBL1 North) by the Gold Coast Rollers. Gold Coast Basketball is seeking applications from interested and experienced persons for the NBL1 WOMENS HEAD COACH position with Gold Coast Basketball. Applicants as a minimum, should hold a Level 2 (Association Coach) coaching accreditation or equivalent experience at elite level basketball and be willing to take ownership and responsibility for the development of players within the Gold Coast Rollers Senior Women’s Program. The successful application will be responsible for: • The planning, development, and performance of the NBL1 Rollers Women’s program. • Select players in accordance with team structure guidelines established by the Gold Coast Basketball Operations. • Assist the Development Officer and the Gold Coast Basketball Administrator with administrative details and arrangements for team activities, trips and promotions. • Working alongside the QSL Head Coach, other Senior Coaches, Junior Representative Girls Coaches, and the Development Officer to help set an overall direction and pathway for Rollers Women’s program and support the development program for Gold Coast Junior players and coaches.
