There’s guaranteed to be side-splitting laughs, piercing insight from his singular voice, and satirical observations on the human condition. An Evening of David Sedaris will grace the Academy of Music stage on October 16, 2017 at 8 p.m. It will also include a Q&A session with the audience followed by a book signing. An in-depth storyteller, bestseller David Sedaris brings new insights and stories to this Philadelphia audience. “Storytelling is one of the oldest arts, but also one of the most relevant to today's audiences with the advent of the podcast,” said Kimmel Center President and CEO Anne Ewers. “Whether you know him from NPR or from his numerous books, you do not want to miss this evening with superb narrator David Sedaris.” David Sedaris has made a name for himself over the last 20 years as a self-effacing and sometimes shockingly honest writer and speaker. He draws on his experiences growing up in the South as one of six siblings, his relationships and homosexual identity, and familial drama. The last was nominated for a Best Spoken Word Album at the GRAMMY Awards.
