(Ms) No. 186 Dated : 24-07-2007 Read: From the Chief Engineer (General), Highways Department, Letter No. 7353/Thittam 2/2007 Dated 4-7-2007. ----------- Order: .During the year 2006-07, government accorded administrative sanction for taking up of various roads and bridges works under Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme at a cost of Rs.1178.038 crores. Apart from the above, there were spill over works of 2005-06 for Rs.452.79 crores under CRIDP. The Chief Engineer (General) has stated that against the above new sanctions accorded during 2006-07 and spill over works, works to the tune of Rs.682.622 crores have been completed during the year 2006-07 and the balance works are in various stages of completion and implementation. 2. The Chief Engineer (General) has now submitted proposals for widening and strengthening of roads at a cost of Rs.729.213 crores under CRIDP for the year 2007-2008 against the budget provision available for the year as detailed below:- length No.of Cost (Rs.in (Kms) Bridges/Culverts crores) i) S.H. 918.908 4 310.130 ii) MDR 924.722 6 224.775 iii) ODR 910.345 26 132.158 iv) SCP (ODR) 456.428 6 62.150 Total 3210.403 42 729.213 3. The Government have examined the proposal of the Chief Engineer (General), Highways and have decided to approve the proposal. Accordingly the Government accord administrative sanction for improvement of State Highways, Major District Roads and bridges / culverts, Other District Roads at a total cost of Rs.729.213 crores (Rupees Seven hundred and twenty nine crores twenty one lakhs and three thousand only) under the Comprehensive Road Infrastructure Development Programme for the year 2007-08 as per outlay indicated in para 2 above. The details of the works are annexed to this order. 4. The expenditure sanctioned in para 3 above shall be debited to the following heads of account:- (i) State Highways :- 5054- Capital Outlay on Roads and Bridges - 03. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved and released funds for implementing urban infrastructure projects in Tamil Nadu under its various schemes, viz., Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), Smart Cities Mission (SCM), Page 1 of 2 Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), Swacchh Bharat Mission – Urban [SBM (U)], Urban Infrastructure Development in Satellite Towns around Seven Mega Cities (UIDSST), Urban Transport (UT), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban [PMAY (U)] and Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JnNURM). Under AMRUT, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs does not approve projects for individual cities but accords approval to the State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) only. Selection, approval and implementation of individual projects is done by State Government. Further, the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs does not release central share of funds city-wise, but funds are released State-wise.
