FORWARD The Department of the State Auditor has witnessed an interesting and productive year. During Fiscal year 1978, the department has responded to the growing public concern for efficiency in government. Not only has the department sought to bring about greater efficiency within other departments and agencies, but has also continued its efforts to become a more efficient and effective arm of state government itself. The Department of the State Auditor expanded its efforts to comply with AICPA and GAO auditing standards.
