We built a broad range of support, research and consulting services; “WiLS as an extension of your staff” became our new mantra. We also initiated a Community Manager program - visiting libraries across the state to share information, listen to library needs and offer assistance. • The Oaks Press
Article 6 Fall 2013 The Oaks Press ‘ Menlo College Campus News ‘ September 23rd to September 29th 2013 Don’t Let Up! Aloha Menlo College, We all go through struggles and since we are all human, we all make mistakes. But take each of these hardships as learning experiences. Take each of them as a reason for you to improve and motivation to move forward. Inspirational I was watching this video on YouTube about a runner who Quote was favored to win a race. During the race, he pulled his hamstring. Determined to finish the race, he got up and “When you don’t hobbled to the finish line. While hobbling, a man from give up. You the stands ran and put the runner’s hand on his shoulder. can’t fail” It was his father. For about half the length of the track, the runner and his father, with his hand to his father’s shoulder walked and finished the race. Although the runner wanted to win, there was nothing he could do to change the outcome with the given circumstances. But what he did do was NOT GIVE UP. When you don’t give up on yourself, you can never fail because there will always be someone you make proud by simply not giving up. In this case, it was the runner’s father. For this issue, I would like to send a special shout out to my three wonderful siblings who are my #1 fans and are supportive through ALL my struggles and successes. You guys are my shoulder to lean on and my motivation to NEVER GIVE UP.
