SET THE DATE The more people who know about your bake sale, the more hounds you can help. Try 1 and pick a date when you know most of your colleagues, friends and family will be hungry & free!

PLAN, PROMOTE & HAVE FUN 2 Confirm a venue and a time. Then invite EVERYONE you know! Use all your socialmedia accounts, put up posters and send an email to colleagues, friends & family. Don’t forget to include a link to your online fundraising page if you decide to use one.

DON’T FORGET ABOUT ONLINE Friends can’t make your event? They can still support! Setting up a JustGiving page 3 makes it easy to donate from anywhere, at any time! It’s a great way to get some extra ‘dough’ along with the proceeds of your bake sale! For info on how to set up an online fundraising page please email [email protected] and we will be delighted to help. Don’t forget to reference ‘Pupcake’ in the title of your page!

STIR IT UP! 4 Unleash your inner ‘Pupcasso’ to make your pupcakes look like your favourite dogs! Try creative flavours and fancy decorating and think about catering for dietary requirements. Line and grease each tin with baking paper. 2. Sift together the flour, salt, bicarbonate of soda and cocoa into a large mixing bowl. 3. Use a freestanding or electric whisk to beat together oil and sugar until pale. Once baked, leave to cool in the tins for 10 minutes, then bean paste transfer to a wire rack to finish cooling. 100ml coffee For the Decoration 240ml buttermilk 1. Use a free-standing mixer or electric whisk to whisk the ½ tbsp white wine vinegar butter until pale. Add icing sugar in stages and continue to 1 tbsp red food colouring gel beat until the buttercream is smooth.

Decoration 2. Add a large dollop of the cream cheese and beat for a few 175g unsalted butter (softened) seconds. Add the rest of the cream cheese and beat for 400g icing sugar, sifted about two minutes until it thickens. Once it’s thickened up, take care you don’t over-mix otherwise it will end up runny 300g full-fat cream cheese again. 3. Now you’re ready to assemble! With a serrated knife level off any domed sponges so that they sit nicely in neat, flat layers. 4. Stack the sponge layers, adding a 1/3 of the cream cheese frosting between each layer. On the top, add the rest of the cream cheese and spread it out, so it looks fancy! Kate’s Vanilla and(Makes 12)Choc Pupcakes You will need: piping bags, 12-hole muffin tins, and cupcake cases

INGREDIENTS METHOD Pupcakes For the Pupcakes 200g plain flour, sifted 1. Preheat oven to 180ºC / Gas mark 4. 2 tsp baking powder 2. Combine baking powder, sugar, flour and butter in a large 200g caster sugar bowl. Small pinch of salt 100g unsalted butter, softened 3. Using your fingertips, rub the butter and dry ingredients together until they resemble breadcrumbs with no lumps 3 medium eggs of butter. 150ml milk 1 tsp vanilla extract 4. In a jug, whisk together the eggs, milk and the vanilla extract. Once combined, add this to the bread-crumbed Vanilla Buttercream & Decoration mixture. Mix together well to form a smooth cake batter; you’re looking for the consistency of double cream. 1 tsp vanilla extract 200g icing sugar, sifted 5. Transfer back to the jug for an easy pour. Then fill each 100g unsalted butter, softened cupcake case about ¾ full and place on the middle shelf. 2 drops pink food colouring 4 tbsp cocoa powder For the Vanilla Buttercream & Decoration A few dates or raisins 1. Use a freestanding or electric whisk to blend icing sugar, butter and vanilla extract. Whisk until the buttercream is very light, which usually takes about 10 mins. 2. Divide mixture into 3 bowls making sure the first 2 bowls have more mixture. Bowl 3 only needs a heaped tablespoon. Bowl 1; add the cocoa powder. Bowl 2; Leave plain. Bowl 3; Add the pink food colouring. Then place into piping bags and set aside. 3. When the cupcakes have cooled, take either the brown or plain piping bag and thinly cover the whole of a cupcake with the buttercream and then smooth this out a bit with a palette knife. 4. Pipe a blob for the nose and 2 smaller blobs of buttercream for the eyes. 5. Pipe ears either side with the same or different colour buttercream, and a tongue using the pink buttercream. 6. Add some buttercream fur and get creative! Vegan Gluten-Free

Banana(Makes 12) Cupcakes You will need: 12-hole muffin tin and cupcake cases

INGREDIENTS METHOD Cupcakes For the Cupcakes 4 very ripe bananas 1. Preheat oven to 180ºC / Gas mark 4. 85ml vegetable oil 2. Mash bananas and mix through oil. 95g brown sugar 190g gluten free flour blend 3. Sieve together all dry ingredients. 2tsp baking powder 4. Fold wet and dry ingredients together until just mixed. 2tsp cinnamon Then spoon into cupcake cases. 1tsp ginger 5. Bake for 15-18mins until a knife comes out clean. 100g vegan chocolate drops 6. Leave to cool on a baking tray. e.g. coconut chocolate

Decoration For the Decoration 400g icing sugar 1. Use a freestanding or electric whisk to blend icing sugar, 50g vegan butter butter and vanilla extract until you have a crumbly 1tsp vanilla extract consistency. 2tsp cocoa powder 2. Add water very gradually to make a smooth paste. 1 drop red food colouring 3. Divide mixture into four bowls making sure the first two bowls have more mixture. Bowl 3 and 4 only need a heaped tablespoon in each. 4. Bowl 1; Leave white but add a tiny amount of water to loosen to mixture so that it will level flat on a cupcake. Bowl 2; Add 1 tsp cocoa – to make light brown for the ears and snout. Bowl 3; Add 1tsp cocoa – to make dark brown for the eyes and nose. Bowl 4; Add a few drops of red colouring, ideally gel colouring – to make pink for the tongue. 5. Now decorate! Vegan Choc Fudge(Makes 12) Cupcakes You will need: piping bags, 12-hole muffin tins, and cupcake cases

INGREDIENTS METHOD Cupcakes For the Cupcakes 30g cocoa powder 1. Preheat oven to 180ºC / Gas mark 4. 200g plain flour 2. Use a freestanding or electric whisk to blend cocoa, sugar, 200g caster sugar bicarbonate of soda, salt and oil. 1tsp bicarbonate of soda Pinch of salt 3. Whilst mixing, gradually add boiled water until incorporated. Then fold in flour and vinegar. 70ml vegetable oil 1 tsp distilled white vinegar 4. Fill each cupcake case about 3/4 full and place on the 250ml water, boiled middle shelf of the oven. Bake for around 25 – 30 minutes until a knife comes out clean. Decoration 50g vegan butter 5. Once baked, leave to cool on a wire rack. Cover cakes 25ml soy milk loosely with clingfilm whilst warm to create a more fudge- like cupcake. 200g vegan chocolate

For the Decoration 1. Break up chocolate into small cubes. 2. Place all ingredients in a microwave and heat in short bursts of 20 seconds, mixing in between, until all combined. 3. Transfer to a piping bag and allow to cool. 4. Pipe onto your cakes and decorate how you wish! Peanut Butter

Doggy(Makes 12) Pupcakes You will need: 12-hole muffin tins and cupcake cases

INGREDIENTS METHOD Pupcakes For the Pupcakes 100g gluten free flour blend 1. Preheat oven to 160ºC / Gas mark 3. 60g gluten free oats 2. Combine all dry ingredients. 1tsp baking powder 1tsp bicarbonate of soda 3. Heat coconut oil until just melted. Mix together with 250ml almond milk peanut butter, milk and grated carrot. 140g peanut butter (Xylitol free!)* 4. Add wet mix to dry and fold together until just mixed. 50g coconut oil 5. Spoon mixture into 12 cup cases and bake for 30 50g grated carrot minutes. Once baked allow to cool on a wire rack. Peanut Butter Frosting 130g peanut butter (Xylitol free!)* For the Peanut Butter Frosting 1. Mix together corn starch and almond milk to make a 125ml almond milk cloudy liquid. 20g cornstarch 12 bitesize treats 2. Add peanut butter and combine. 3. Place in a saucepan and heat gently, continually stirring until mixture thickens. 4. Cover with clingfilm and allow to cool. 5. Spread onto cakes and place a treat on each cake.

*Xylitol is an artificial sweetener which is toxic to dogs. It can be found in peanut butter. Please read the ingredients label before using. Cookie’s Lovely(Makes 12) Lamb Cupcakes You will need: 12-hole muffin tray lined with baking paper

INGREDIENTS METHOD 500g minced lamb 1. Preheat oven to 180ºC / Gas mark 4. 200g gluten free flour 2. Add lamb, flour, porridge oats and beaten egg to a bowl. 50g gluten free porridge oats Combine and mix together using your fingertips. 1 egg (beaten) 3. Separate the mixture into 12 equal sized lumps. 4. Roll into round balls using your hands. Place each ball in the cupcake tin holes. 5. Bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool completely and then serve.

These ingredients are NOT suitable for Dogs! Common foods that are either poisonous, or we wouldn’t recommend feeding.

Always check before using an ingredient! There may be items that are not on this list that your pooch can’t eat!

(Makes 18 medium / 36 small) YouCookies will need: Baking tray lined with baking paper

INGREDIENTS METHOD 170g cooked & peeled sweet 1. Preheat oven to 160ºC / Gas mark 3. potato 2. Mash cooked, peeled sweet potato and mix in grated 50g grated carrot carrot. 200g gluten free flour 3. Beat egg and combine. Fold in flour. 1 egg 4. Weigh mix and divide dough by 18 for medium dogs or 36 for small dogs. 5. Roll into balls and place on a lined baking tray. 6. Press down with a fork to flatten. 7. Bake for 10- 12 minutes for a soft cookie. Bake for 15-18 minutes for a harder cookie.

REMEMBER: Giving your dog a well-deserved treat will help build your bond and be a brilliant training aid, but too many or the wrong type can unbalance your dog’s diet and lead to weight problems. All treats should be part of a balanced diet and should not account for more than 10% of your `dog’s daily nutrition. k Than you
