2020 Public Education Summary Presentation (PDF File) Education Bills by the Numbers 56% 198 112 Bill Passage Rate Bills Introduced Bills Passed ADA Compliant: April 20, 2020 The Breakdown Numbers at a Glance Growth and the WPU Enrollment Growth and WPU $252,086,500 ongoing & $4,680,900 one-time. This funding includes the WPU value increase. LEAs will be funded on the prior year ADM + growth. Enrollment growth was funded for an estimated increase of 7,902 students next year. Growth and the WPU Voted and Board Local Levy Programs Increase The Equity Pupil Tax Rate could increase the number of guaranteed local levy increments up to 20 for either the Voted or Board Local Levy Programs with appropriated funds of $70 million. Support Funding Technology Funding Program Funding Notable Education Bills Early Learning Programs Enhanced Kindergarten Amendments HB99: Representative V. Lowry Snow & Senator Lyle Hillyard Received $10 Million ongoing to increase access to Optional Enhanced Kindergarten (OEK) for students. Combined with the $7.5 million ongoing currently appropriated for the enhanced kindergarten early intervention program, this funding will enable early intervention for about 25% of students starting school unprepared for kindergarten.
