It follows the valley formed by the Brampton Arm of the River Nene, and runs from the NRDA boundary to the north-west of Northampton into the centre of the town. It is adjacent to the King’s Heath SUE, and incorporates the proposed Strategic Greenspace associated with the development. At its southern end it connects with the Northampton Waterside Enterprise Zone. Valley floor scene in the Brampton Arm, as seen from the Rugby-Northampton railway Strategic Green Infrastructure Context (See map 2.1) The Brampton Arm Component is part of the larger Sub-Regional GI Corridor 8 (The Brampton Arm- Northampton to Market Harborough) which continues to the north. It also contributes to Local GI Corridor 6 (Northampton- Daventry) which runs broadly east- west. At its southern end the component connects with Sub-Regional GI Corridors 1 and 2 (The Nene Valley).
