Open system for the creation and use of custom content... 4 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION INSTALLATION To start the installation: To start the installation, insert the enclosed USB PROFITEACH TE key into a free USB port and double click on the file: setup.exe or, in the case of a downloadable version, double-click the file: Profiteach-1.4-eng-Setup.exe Press the Finish button to complete the PROFITEACH installation process on your computer. Due to the large amount of data it may take several tens of minutes to install the GALLERY !!! When the program is successfully installed, the PROFITEACH HOME icon appears on your computer desktop. Double-click the icon to start PROFITEACH. UNINSTALLING To uninstall PROFITEACH from your computer, follow these steps: START - CONTROL PANEL - PROGRAMS - UNINSTALL PROGRAM - select: Profiteach 6 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION HOW TO TEACH - A QUICK GUIDE ... HOME - SETTINGS: academic year, semester and subject must be completed. Confirm with the CHANGE button. STUDENTS - STUDENTS - ADD: adds a student to the Profiteach system. - Press the RETURN button to go back without saving the data. - after completing and pressing the SAVE button, the student's name will appear in the item: “List of Students” For each student name in the List of Students, three buttons appear: E - K - X E - editing allows you to change and correct student data. K - student examinations. X - delete, allows you to delete a student from Profiteach. 7 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION STUDENTS STUDENTS - STUDENTS - SAVE STUDENT LIST: After registering all students it is necessary to SAVE STUDENT LIST. After registering all students, it is necessary to create LESSONS TIMETABLE - LESSONS TIMETABLE: ADD button. 8 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION TIMETABLE LESSONS TIMETABLE - LESSONS TIMETABLE: ADD button - items to the timetable choosing: - start of lesson / format 00:00 / ... - duration of the lesson in minutes ... - day of the week on which the lessons will take place ... - selection of a student whose teaching we need to introduce into the timetable ... The data must be confirmed by the UPDATE button.. Important!!! It is necessary to save the timetables for each academic year and semester by pressing the SAVE button. Only the last saved the timetable is active !!! The timetables are stored in the Lesson Timetable Content. 9 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION You can freely change, correct, edit and delete individual entries in the LESSONS TIMETABLE using the buttons: E - Edit lessons timetable X - Delete lessons timetable LESSON IN PROGRESS LESSONS - LESSON IN PROGRESS LESSON IN PROGRESS is a real-time lesson with a specific pupil and with a specific content of teaching. The content of the lessons is concentrated in the GALLERIES. In the teaching process we can add content from the GALLERY menu to the LESSON IN PROGRESS! 10 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION LESSONS - START LESSON: displays a list of lessons from the timetable. START LESSON button: to start a new LESSON IN PROGRESS. After pressing the START LESSON button, a new LESSON IN PROGRESS will be created, which will be saved in the LIST OF LESSONS directory. We can choose the content of the LESSON IN PROGRESS from the seven offered categories: After pressing one of the category buttons, its content will be displayed. Each item /GALLERY/ contains a name, author/artist, difficulty level and four buttons: P - V - E - X 11 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION P - VIEW - allows you to view the contents of the gallery. V - TEACHING - the button adds a gallery to the LESSON IN PROGRESS. E - EDIT - allows you to edit and change the content of the gallery. X - DELETE - deletes the gallery from the Profiteach system! We will assign the GALLERY to the LESSON IN PROGRESS by pressing the “V” button. In this way we can assign any number of galleries to the LESSON IN PROGRESS, we can view them, play the content and do all the operations that the GALLERY PLAYER allows. Details can be found in a separate GALLERY chapter. The content assigned to the LESSON IN PROGRESS will be displayed directly in the window: LESSONS - LESSON IN PROGRESS - CONTENT ATTRIBUTION 12 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION Each GALLERY assigned to the LESSON IN PROGRESS contains two buttons: P and X P - VIEW - allows you to view the contents of the gallery. X - DELETE - deletes the gallery from the LESSON IN PROGRESS! The duration of each LESSON IN PROGRESS is limited only by starting the next LESSON IN PROGRESS by pressing the button START LESSON in the LESSONS menu! Each time you press the START LESSON button, a new LESSON IN PROGRESS is created and saved to LIST OF LESSONS. 13 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION Each LESSON IN PROGRESS is stored in the LIST OF LESSONS and contains four buttons: P - H - A - X P - VIEW - displays the content of the LESSON H - EXAMINATION - the button starts the lesson examination and participation. A - ACTIVE - the button sets selected LESSON back to the ACTIVE state of LESSON IN PROGRESS X - DELETE - delete the LESSON from the Profiteach system! SUMMARY: - HOME - SETTINGS: the school year, semester and subject must be completed. - Every change of the timetable must be saved to: LESSONS TIMETABLE - SAVE - Each new list of students must be saved in: STUDENTS - STUDENTS - SAVE We went through all the initial steps that are necessary to work with the Profiteach system. However, after registering all students and setting the timetable, the teaching process itself is very simple: LESSONS - START LESSON - START LESSON button: We are starting a new LESSON IN PROGRESS We add content to LESSON IN PROGRESS by pressing the "V" buttons LIST OF LESSONS - button “H”: examination, presence - absence from lesson 14 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION GALLERIES AND GALLERY PLAYER 15 ProfiTEACH GUITAR - TEACHER EDITION A GALLERY is a set of several multimedia elements playable in the GALLERY PLAYER in the Profiteach system. You can create galleries in the window: GALLERIES - OVERVIEW OF CONTENT - ADD button. Each GALLERY can contain the following data or file types: 1. Title 7.

Brown, Advisor Between 1984 and 1991, heavy metal became one of the most publicly popular and commercially successful rock music subgenres. The focus of this dissertation is to explore the following research questions: How did the subculture of heavy metal music between 1984 and 1991 evolve and what meanings can be derived from this ongoing process? How did the contextual circumstances surrounding heavy metal music during this period impact the performative choices exhibited by artists, and from a position of retrospection, what lasting significance does this particular era of heavy metal merit today? A textual analysis of metal- related materials fostered the development of themes relating to the selective choices made and performances enacted by metal artists. These themes were then considered in terms of gender, sexuality, race, and age constructions as well as the ongoing negotiations of the metal artist within multiple performative realms. Occurring at the juncture of art and commerce, heavy metal music is a purposeful construction. Metal musicians made performative choices for serving particular aims, be it fame, wealth, or art. These same individuals worked within a greater system of influence. Metal bands were the contracted employees of record labels whose own corporate aims needed to be recognized.

Malmsteen Yngwie Johann Malmsteen (born Lars Johann Yngve Lannerbäck, June 30, 1963) is a Swedish guitarist, composer and bandleader. Widely recognized as a virtuoso, Malmsteen achieved widespread acclaim in the 1980s due to his technical proficiency and his pioneering neo-classical metal. Guitar One magazine rated him the third fastest guitar shredder in the world after Michael Angelo Batio and Chris Impellitteri. Born into a musical family in Stockholm, Yngwie was the youngest child in the family. At an early age, he showed little interest in music. It wasn't until September 18, 1970 when at age seven he saw a TV special on the death of Jimi Hendrix that Malmsteen became obsessed with the guitar. To quote his official website, "The day Jimi Hendrix died, the guitar-playing Yngwie was born". He claims his first name in Swedish means "young Viking chief". Actually, it is a variation of Yngvi, who founded the House of Yngling, which is the oldest known Swedish dynasty. Aquiles Priester – Those who appreciate my work expect some kind of didactic material to be released from time to time. I’m in no hurry to do many things so as to have a vast catalogue. My greatest concern is to maintain a high level of quality in everything I do. Come to think of it, free time is something that doesn’t exist, but if you want to go ahead in your care er, you have to make time to realize the things that are important and at the right time. 2. Your last instructional DVD (The Infallible Reason Of My Freak Drumming), is very practical with regard to the division of chapters. Did you choose this subdivision by yourself? Aquiles – Yes, I produced the DVD myself and it was based on things that I always studied. Everything I learned with Kiko Freitas at the time when I studied with him is included in the DVD. This goes beyond the exercises themselves because I’m talking about the conception of the work. Many people comment that the way in which the DVD is presented is very good and that makes me very happy. This DVD was released worldwide by Mel Bay Publishing and in 2011 was considered 3rd best instructional DVD of the year according to readers of Modern Drummer magazine . 3. How long did it take to complete it? Aquiles – I did a long pre-production, almost 15 days recording and rehearsing the whole script during 8 hours daily alone on a farm.

Aquiles Priester has already done more than 350 drum clinics in various countries and took part of the biggest drum festivals around the world such as Modern Drummer Festival (United States), Montreal Drum Fest (Canada), Batuka! International Drum Fest (Brazil), La Rioja Festival (Spain), Laguna Drum Fest (Mexico), London Drum Show and Drummer Live (England), International Summer Drum Camp (France), Thomas Lang’s Big Drum Bonanza (United States), Frankfurt Musikmesse (Germany) and Namm Show (United States). Born in South Africa, he moved to Brazil while still a child, spending his childhood and part of his adolescence in Foz do Iguaçu, a city in the state of Paraná. Allein schon die einzigartige Gästeliste vermag allerdings auch höchste Erwartungen von Proghörern einzulösen: Hier geben sich Jerry Goodman (vln, u. a. The Flock, Mahavishnu Orchestra), Derek Sherinian (keyb., Ex-Dream Theater, Chroma Key, Planet X), Stu Hamm (bss, u. a. Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Frank Gambale) und Atma Anur (drms, u. a. Tony MacAlpine, Richie Kotzen, Jason Becker, Cacophony, Doppler Inc., Greg Howe) ein Stelldichein. Doch „Composition“ ist mehr, als nur ein Projekt mit ganz großen Namen, es handelt sich hier Omen-mäßig eben auch um zwingende, geradezu in den Bann schlagende Kompositionen aus dem Umfeld Jazzrock, Progmetal und Weltmusik eindeutig orientalisch/indischer Prägung. Beispielsweise die Gitarren- (Tapping)/Keyboard-Duelle, die sich Boullt und Sherinian auf dem einleitenden „Page Revisited“ liefern, brauchen sich vor nichts auf dem legendären Shrapnel-Label Erschienenen zu verstecken. „Chasing the Whirling Dervish“ jagt überwiegend akustisch einen deutlich erkennbar aus der Mclaughlin-Zauberlampe entwichenen Dämon. Und bringt diesen mit Hilfe von Jerrys magischer Geige schließlich auch wunderbar zu einer Art von musikalischer Räson. Auf „Moving Panvishnu“ lässt derselbe Musikerhurricane das Barometer in die gleiche Richtung sacken, während Boullts Solo dann auf's Angenehmste Allan Holdsworth herbeizitiert. Stimmliche Beiträge vom in der Qawwali-/Sham Chorasi-Tradition singenden pakistanischen Künstler Sukhawat Ali Khan sind u. a. auf dem eindringlichen „Call for Peace“ vernehmlich. The memorial show, "Randy Rhoads Remembered" on 2 April, will be devoted to the life's work of this hugely style-forming musician and will be focusing particularly on his period of joint work with Ozzy Osbourne. The project's founder and former Ozzy drummer Brian Tichy leads an all-star Band which will perform the songs from the memorable albums "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman". Moreover, musicians and companions will tell stories about Rhoads’ life and work. The line-up for the European premiere of "Randy Rhoads Remembered" is continually filling up: latest on board for the event are guitarists Richie Faulkner (Judas Priest), Gus G. (Firewind, ex-Ozzy-Osbourne) and the well-known solo artistes Tony MacAlpine and Nick Johnston. Kelle Rhoads, brother of the guitar hero who died much too young, will be supplying some particularly emotional moments at the microphone. Already confirmed for the performance have been the house band "The Madmen", with percussionist and musical director Brian Tichy, keyboarder Don Airey (Deep Purple), bass player Phil Soussan (ex- Ozzy-Osbourne, Beggars & Thieves), plus guitarists and vocalists Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns-'N-Roses) and Christian Brady (Hellyeah).
