May 13, 2020 Happy Women’s Day This past Sunday we celebrated all mothers and included all women, even those who did not birth a child this lifetime. We looked briefly into the history of human celebration of the masculine and feminine energy through philosophy and religion. Almost every society honored the power of harmony when both energies were recognized and balanced. That understanding stopped by Churchianity around 400 AD, when the church became the state government and the Bible was edited by all male priests. It was not until the mid-1800s when Mary Baker Eddy honored Father-Mother God that recognition of the feminine began to become part of our spirituality. Later, Emma Curtis Hopkins took it another step and recognized the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. She celebrated the feminine aspect of God as the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit. This viewpoint of the Divine is in alignment with eastern religions and the teaching of YIN and YANG. It is recognized that we can only begin to live in the Kingdom of Harmony as we recognize and then realize the balance of these energies within our being and experience the balance of the Tai Chi ball. KRIYA Yoga teaches a simple balanced breathing practice. I use this practice every day. Breathe in up to the forehead, breathe down the left side (IDA) to the base, breathe up the right side (PINGALA) to the forehead, breathe out and say to yourself, “Peace Be Still!” Take a moment to be the Peace. Do three complete cycles of this breath practice to complete a cycle. It is important to do this practice first thing in the morning and then again right before you go to sleep. Honor the Feminine energy within you; be balanced; enter the Kingdom of Harmony. PEACE Stay well, Rev Dan .
