Fusscas Submitted to the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, in partial fulfillment of the Degree of Master of Science in Real Estate ABSTRACT This thesis represents a study of the New York World Trade Center. It was written in conjunction with four other papers studying World Trade Centers (WTCs) sites in Taipei, Amsterdam, Curacao and Portland (Oregon). These sites represent a cross-section of the various trade and economic environments that World Trade Centers operate in around the globe. Each of these studies examines the extent to which the owner/developer, the tenants and other regional public and private concerns have benefitted through their involvement with these highly specialized real estate developments. The New York World Trade Center is unique from all other World Trade Centers in several respects. -

We operate more than 800 athletic fields and nearly 1,000 playgrounds; we manage five major stadia, 600 tennis courts, 66 public pools, 51 recreational facilities, 17 nature centers, 14 golf courses, and 14 miles of beaches; we care for 800 monuments and 23 historic house museums; we look after 600,000 street trees, and two million more in parks. We are New York City’s principal provider of athletic facilities. We are home to free concerts, world-class sports events, and cultural festivals. The work of the agency goes far beyond the maintenance of 14% of New York City's land. Parks is the City's leading programmer of cultural, athletic and social activities, including nature walks, concerts, learn-to-swim classes, sports clinics, historic house tours, and much more. Each year Parks hosts annual events such as the WinterJam, Adventures NYC, the Pumpkin Festival and several others. In addition, Parks produces many special events, including concerts and movie premieres. In the summer, Parks' busiest season, the agency organizes free carnivals and concerts, and sends mobile recreation vans to travel throughout the five boroughs providing free rental equipment for skating, baseball, and miniature golf. -

The redesigned map should be practical and able to be used in the real world. My choice on the New York State Park is the Central Park in Manhatten New York. I Chose Central Park because of my own experience. As a first time visitor in New York last year, I visited Central Park with my cousin who has been living in NewYork for seven years. While I was doing my research, I did not find any map for first-time visitors from the central park official website. If I were on my own while I first visited Central Park, I would not be able to know where to begin my visit. I am sure that the other first-time visitors would have the same problem. These are the reasons that my map is designed for first-time visitors who have a limited amount of time. In my map, I featured several top attractions in and around the park. I also included some top-rated restaurants around and inside the park since Knowing where to consume good food is essential during visiting. -
