Illinois 2-4-0 8-6-0 Nebraska 2-4-0 8-6-0 STEPHENSON NAMED B1G TEN CO-GYMNAST OF THE YEAR The Big Ten Conference announced the 2019 Big Ten Gymnast and Freshman of the Year, as voted upon by the conference coaches Monday. Nebraska men’s gymnast Anton Stephenson earned Co-Gymnast of the Year, sharing the honor with Minnesota’s Shane Wiskus. Illinois’ Michael Fletcher was awarded Freshman of the Year. Stephenson is the first Husker to earn Gymnast of the Year award since the installation of the award in 1988. The Fishers, Ind. native is ranked first on vault (14.744 avg.) and holds the nation’s highest score (15.100) of the year. Stephenson has tallied 13 event titles this season, including four all-around golds. Stephenson was named Big Ten Gymnast of the Week on March 29 and is a finalist for the Nissen-Emery Award, given to the top senior male gymnast in the NCAA based on athletic achievements, sportsmanship and academic excellence. The 2019 Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championships will take place April 5-6 at the University of Iowa. The championships can be watched live on BTN on both nights starting at 7 p.m. CT and will also be available on BTN2GO and the BTN2Go mobile app. STEPHENSON NAMED B1G TEN GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Anton Stephenson claimed his second Big Ten Gymnast-of-the-Week award on Monday from the conference, after his performance on March 23 against Michigan. Stephenson earned the honor as a sophomore against University of Illinois-Chicago. Stephenson claimed individual titles on vault (15.05), floor (14.40), parallel bars (14.75) and claimed the all- around title (84.40). On the other events, the senior finished with scores of 13.65 (pommel horse), 13.50 (still rings) and 13.05 (high bar). Stephenson claimed second place on pommel horse, eighth place on still rings and fifth place on high bar. The Fishers, Indiana, native led the Huskers to a first place finish over Michigan, which included season high scores on vault (72.60), parallel bars (69.70) and still rings (68.00). The victory gave NU its second conference win of the season. Minnesota’s David Pochinka took home
