As many as seven times?” Jesus replied, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy seven times.” The response of Jesus teaches us that FORGIVENESS is INMEASURABLE; it embraces the offender with LOVE, then, offers HEALING and HOPE, and it creates PEACE in our hearts! However, with the anniversary of 9/11 recently upon us, some of us might still be holding the painful memories of this tragedy in our lives. But let us move on, and let FORGIVENESS become a constant companion in our journey towards healing. And let us treasure the creative memories that held us together as a people, a community and a nation. Yes, the tragedy did change how we understand ourselves and the world. I became a story that we tell our children and grandchildren. And the retelling of that story is now. Parish Administration However painful it was, we recall the graced moments when we (308) 632-2541 / (308) 632-2146 (Fax) demonstrated the power of prayer, the strength of solidarity, and the dynamism [email protected] of healing that propelled us to rise as a nation of love and peace. And in those www.st-agnes-church.com dark hours of our lives, what bonded us together is Jesus’ promise. He said: “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Pastor Then and now, Jesus trusts us; in return we say with faith: “IN GOD WE TRUST!” Rev. Vincent L. Parsons (ext. 2) As we remember September 11, let this prayer become the song of our hearts in [email protected] rekindling the extraordinary expression of our faith: God of history, our hearts ache as we recall the events of September 11, but our souls take consolation to Church Office Manager witnessing the outburst of faith that energized millions of people to become Theresa Trevino (ext. 3) instruments of God to bring joy from grief, hope from despair, healing from [email protected] pain, and to sacrifice oneself so that others may live. We need to read them from the perspective of his own time. In fact, we hear very little from Galatians so let’s get together and discover more about the early church and the developing theology. We will begin our study on Monday, September 21st at 7:00 pm in the church basement. We will read and discuss these letters from Paul at a slow pace so that everyone feels comfortable. Cost of the study books will be $7.50 each. Please contact Kathleen Roehl 632-7407 immediately to order a book. Everyone is welcome. Amen. you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; THE LITURGY of the WORD First Reading - Sirach 27:30-28:7 Wrath and anger are hateful things, yet the sinner hugs them tight. The vengeful will suffer the LORD’s vengeance, for he remembers their sins in detail. Forgive your neighbor’s injustice; then when you pray, your own sins will be forgiven. Could anyone nourish anger against another and expect healing from the LORD? Could anyone refuse mercy to another like himself, can he seek pardon for his own sins? If one who is but flesh cherishes wrath, who will forgive his sins? Remember your last days, set enmity aside; remember death and decay, and cease from sin! Think of the commandments, hate not your neighbor; remember the Most High’s covenant, and overlook faults.
