Úvod Hudební skupina One Direction je dnes považovaná za jednu z nejlepších chlapeckých skupin 21. století.1 V době svého působení vyprodávali koncertní haly a jejich alba byla na vrcholech prodejních žebříčků, což je nezvyklé pro skupinu, která vznikla v talentové soutěži. Když v srpnu 2015 globálně úspěšná hudební skupina One Direction oznámila, že od března 2016 přerušuje svou činnost na dobu neurčitou a jednotliví členové začnou tvořit samostatně, objevila se kromě fanouškovských povzdechů také řada kritických hlasů. Například hudební manažer Louis Walsh se nechal slyšet, že kapela prorazila a zbohatla příliš rychle a žádnému z jejích členů se nebude na sólové dráze dařit.2 Za dobu působení kapely One Direction se nejvýrazněji vyprofilovala hvězdná osobnost Harryho Stylese. V této práci se budu snažit nalézt a analyzovat důvody tohoto fenoménu a postihnout faktory, které měly vliv na formování jeho hvězdného obrazu a hvězdné osobnosti. S odstupem tří let je možná na soudy ohledně platnosti Walshova tvrzení příliš brzy, ale všichni členové kapely již vydali své vlastní desky. Každý z nich svoji sólovou dráhu spojil s jiným hudebním stylem - Zayn Malik s R&B, Louis Tomlison s taneční popovou hudbou a v případě Harryho Stylese žánrová volba padla na klasický rock.3 To mladému umělci umožnilo odstřihnout se od spotřebního popu, s nímž byla produkce One Direction spojená, a také se zařadit po bok hudebních ikon jako jsou David Bowie nebo Mick Jagger, k nimž je Styles pravidelně přirovnávaný.4 Kromě vydání sólové nahrávky se ani ne pětadvacetiletý mladý muž stal dva roky po sobě tváří kampaně oděvní firmy Gucci5 a objevil se ve vedlejší roli ve filmu režiséra Christophera Nolana Dunkerk.6 Nebývalý rozptyl aktivit umožňuje Stylesovi profilovat se jako všestranně nadaný, úspěšný umělec, stranou šoubyznysové mašinérie, která stojí za jeho prvním profesním úspěchem - kapelou One Direction. Tato práce se zajímá především o hvězdný obraz zpěváka během jeho působení v chlapecké skupině One Direction. V této práci se snažím dokázat svou tezi, že Harryho dominance byla vědomě tvořena produkčním týmem stojícím za kapelou One Direction, který byl přímo zodpovědný za vytváření hvězdného obrazu hudební skupiny. Termínem dominance je v této práci myšleno strhávaní pozornosti na Harryho v propagačních materiálech pomocí formálních a stylistických prostředků. Na příkladech z autorizovaných

This study was intended to investigate the types of metaphor used in One Direction Album. The objective of this study to identify the types of metaphor found in the song lyrics and to analyze metaphor meaning in One Direction song. This study adopted a descriptive qualitative research design. Three songs by One Direction had been chosen as the data of this study; Story of My Life, Steal My Girl and Drag Me Down. The data were analyzed its metaphor by using Lakoff and Johnson theory, while in investigating the meaning, Chaer’s theory of contextual meaning was used. The result of the study showed that based on the three types of metaphor, structural metaphor becomes the most frequently used in the song lyrics, meanwhile 2 of 3 songs used all of the three types of metaphor; Orientation, Structural and Ontological Metaphor. In answering the second research question about the meaning of each metaphor, each lyric has been analyzed through content analysis to know the true meaning of what the song writer want to express in his/her lyrics and each lyric has different contextual meaning which is elaborated further in this study.
