Works Group meeting was held 6 July 2017. Chief Executive Officer, Roy McClymont attended the Human Services and Provider Group Meeting 12 July 2017. Community and Development Services Manager, Geoff Carberry and Chief Executive Officer, Roy McClymont met with Greg Thorne Regional Executive Director for the Department of Education and Emma Cooke Acting Principal at Meekatharra District High School on 19 July 2017. Works Group Meeting was held 20 July 2017 Chief Executive Officer, Roy McClymont advised that our new Works and Services Manager Doug Davey will commence work 24 July 2017. MINUTES OF THE ORDINARY COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON SATURDAY 22 JULY 2017 Page 4 9 REPORTS OF COMMITTEES AND OFFICERS 9.1 OFFICERS MONTHLY REPORTS 9.1.1 WORKS & SERVICES MANAGER’S REPORT – JUNE 2017 Road Maintenance and Grading Maintenance grading has been completed for the remainder of Landor Road, Northampton Grader Hire has completed maintenance grading works on Neds Creek Road. Construction Work The construction crew have relocated to commence the business case works at around SLK 67 Landor Road. Subbase material has been pushed up. Gravel has been located with staff waiting on clearances to gain access to this material. The design for the first 2km has been completed and is pegged on site. The two floodways at SLK 30 and SLK 33 Ashburton Downs Meekatharra Road have been completed and the road is now open to traffic. Flood Damage Repairs Opening up works have been completed on Neds Creek Road. Town Maintenance-Monthly Report Finishing 18th July 2017 Smashed glass strewn across roadways, graffiti to town signs, buildings, lamp posts, footpaths and Peace Gorge has continued and is taking up a considerable amount of time to remove. Sweeping of Main St was completed in accordance with Council’s directive. Heritage Trail maintenance and Boardwalks repaired, pruning of bushes undertaken, spraying and mowing carried out. Weed spraying is currently being carried out. Mowing has taken placed around town. A dead tree in the consultants quarters block has been taken down. Weeding of old Meekatharra cemetery has been completed. Officers Recommendation

Places are not necessarily buildings, but can be historic sites of former buildings, activities or events as well as built structures such as mines, wells and roads. Entry of a heritage place into the Municipal Inventory is recognition of its importance to the community. Depending on the level of significance afforded to each place listed in the Inventory a management category is allocated which provides a recommendation for the future conservation of the place. Places recorded in the Municipal Inventory are not automatically entered into the Heritage Council's Register of Heritage Places. It is likely, however, that the sites will be included in the Heritage Council's Database. The Heritage Council Register of Heritage Places is an authoritative, comprehensive list of places that are of State cultural heritage significance. Places entered into the Register are subject to development control and are protected under the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990.

Geraldton will develop as the largest regional centre north of Perth, offering a wide range of facilities and attractions.
