This past year, over 5,300 contributors joined together to sow the seeds of promise. Your generosity provides Wopportunities for Alaskans. You provided scholarships, professorships, equipment and program support to the University of Alaska. Current and future students, parents, employers, alumni and friends all benefit from an educated citizenry. The University of Alaska Foundation carefully stewards all funds entrusted to its care. From accepting and receiving a gift, to distributing it to the benefiting student, department or program, the Foundation takes great care to ensure donors’ wishes are honored. After two very difficult years in the financial markets, we’re pleased to again report positive gains in the Consolidated Endowment Fund. New legislation clarifies how Alaska charities may administer endowments while providing significant tax benefits for corporate contributions. And the popular Permanent Fund Dividend checkoff provides another means by which Alaskans can support UA programs. Thank you for your continued investment in Alaska’s future. MIKE DINNEEN Patrick Gamble, President, University of Alaska; Mary Rutherford, President, University of Alaska Foundation; Mike Felix, Chair, University of Alaska Foundation Board of Trustees.
