Network Utilities and Designations 14.1 Introduction The successful functioning of the city and its many services depends on a complex network of utilities and designations including water and wastewater reticulation; electricity transmission, distribution networks; telecommunication networks (including privately owned aerials and antennas); gas networks; the wastewater treatment plant; landfills; defence; public hospitals; and schools. Some of these network utilities are implemented by way of resource consent, and others by way of designation. Network Utilities 1. Network utilities are provided for un- procedures of the Act.
