  • Nafplio Area Villa Thymari – Thyme (Villa C) Overview
Villa Complex Design | Nafplio area Villa Thymari – Thyme (villa C) Overview Following on from the 4 villa complex completed in 2017 and the private villa that is under construction in the area, we are proud to present our new design for a 3 villa complex on a prime plot with immediate beach access. The land is a rare plot of 5.800m² on the sea side of the main road, from Nafplio to Astros, in Xiropigado area. The plot offers gentle slopes from the road down to the sea. The design caters for an exclusive villa estate, offering 3 independent villas with private pools, private external areas, private entrances and unobstructed sea views. Enjoying immediate access to a beach and the sea, this newly designed villa complex will be constructed with extreme care and attention to detail, as all of our completed villas in the area. The estate is part of an olive grove, while pine and cypress trees will be also planted. The design offers a balanced “play” of internal and external spaces, breathtaking sea views and a spectacular blend of light and shade. Solid stone walls, big glass openings and energy efficient solutions complete an environmentally friendly building. Each villa is set within a private land area, while a series of external private areas offer outside living most of the year. Located just 20 minutes from Nafplio city and 2 hours from Athens International Airport, the area is easily accessible throughout the year. The area distances from the villa: . • Cultural Routes in Kynouria of Arcadia: Geospatial Database Design and Software Development for Web Mapping of the Spatio-Historical Information
Preprints (www.preprints.org) | NOT PEER-REVIEWED | Posted: 27 June 2018 doi:10.20944/preprints201806.0453.v1 Peer-reviewed version available at Heritage 2018, 1, 10; doi:10.3390/heritage1010010 Article Cultural Routes in Kynouria of Arcadia: Geospatial Database Design and Software Development for Web Mapping of the Spatio-Historical Information Lampros Boukouvalas1, Gregory Grigorakakis2 and Andreas Tsatsaris* 1 University of West Attica, Department of Informatics Engineering, Agiou Spiridonos & Pallikaridi St., 12243, Egaleo, Athens, Greece; [email protected] 2 Ephorate of Antiquities of Kefallinia, 5 Mantzavinou St., Argostoli, Kefallinia; [email protected] * University of West Attica, Research Laboratory of Geospatial Technology, 28 Agiou Spiridonos St., 12243, Egaleo, Athens, Greece: [email protected], Tel.: +30-210-538-5388 Abstract: On the occasion of Kynouria and in order to achieve the protection and projection of antiquities, a web-based model is proposed for highlighting individual monuments and archaeological sites, having in mind the historical and archaeological evidence of the region, the topography, the demographic profile and the tourist infrastructure, and combining them with the development programs for cultural routes. Therefore, creating suitable databases and mapping the monuments in the area are key prerequisites of the process, as they contribute to an objective assessment of the current situation and then to make rational decisions. In this frame, modern technology provides some important planning tools (GIS, GPS, and OMS) which allow recording and mapping of data, viewing the relationships between them in the area where they appear and managing their projection. The complete study of Kynouria’s archaeological routes contains the implementation of a website using free or open-source software, which should include all the necessary procedures and the historical and archaeological information material (text, maps, and photographs).
